Hope everyone has by now noticed the new blog function. Shows up nicely on the front page. Hopefully more people will start using this new feature, to keep track of your builds here.

Yes, it is a growing trend amongst modelling sites to offer this feature...

Well, actually we had it several years ago, for all campaigns.

Good memory! I had forgotten about this piece with the campaigns back then. A nice feature, (if the modeler decided to use it), and an info/learning tool for other modelers to track a kit build with.

And btw the planet series of sites had it before you.

Well Vinnie here's the first one I did on planetArmour back on 2004.

I guess some folks think they invented the internet too.

Nice blog Jet, enjoyed reading it.

If you count the campaign journals as the grandfather of today's build logs, then the Armorama ones go back to around 2002 when we first started having group builds on the site.

I guess I'm overlooking something, but I don't see anything on the front page regarding blogs except in the Forums "Latest Posts" block.

Well the last page has this as the date-

08-11-2004,

, when I posted the last image where the Tiger was finished.

If you really want to give credit to the original build log type of thing - Track link was pretty much the first one to have the format of a individual SBS build of one kit ala the Modelling Magazines. Here is one of my first from 2003.
*click*One of the early BLOGS

I didn't really like doing them there because for the "Chapter" to be published the owner operator needed to push a button, and this was not done in a rhythmic manner, thus causing frustrations and loss of interest in going forward with them. I much prefer doing my SBS on pA as the layout and software, for me, are much better than any other site out there. I find that the straight ahead way you can post and scroll with the type of interface a PHPBB forum has is easy and fun. I find that other types of software that other sites use , while fancy, are too labour intensive (for me) to view and read updates in a convenient or attractive way. One can also have some control over when and what gets published on PHPBB. I feels a bit freer than being tied in with some site.
Anyways -Long LIve Armorama

P.S. Thanks Dave for the props!

James,
vBulletin is easily the best forum software out there IMHO. While I would love to be able to switch us over to something like that the reality is we would loose a lot of the customized functionality we do enjoy that vBulletin does not do. I know what you mean about the threaded forums though, they just make perusing an entire topic very time intensive.

One enhancement I am am hoping to implement at some point is a "scale" setting for topics. That way if people want to see all the 1/48 scale topics on the network... wah la... easy.

Cheers,
Jim
