:-) Hi tread heads,
Can anyone tell me if the Horch 1a was used in operation Barbarossa? I have the Tamiya kit, with 2cm flak 38. If it was is the kit colour scheme of Dark yellow with Green camo and the uniforms of the crew appropriate for that operation?
I have absolutley no references and would also be interested in any web sites that are out there, that will give me information, on both this vehicle and Op barbarossa.

PS I normally build things with wings :-)

Mal, I belive that the Horch may have been available to participate in Barbarossa, but not in the dark yellow based camo. At that time (1941) German vehicles were still in overall dark grey. The kits crew uniforms may also be too late for that campaign.

The Horch and flak 38 can be used. German Panzer Grey Color.

If the uniforms are the Waffen SS M38 Smock, the figures can be used. If they are M42, no.

:-) Thanks for the replies, guys. Of course I'm now more confused than ever.
I can use the Horch and 2cm flak if I paint them Panzer grey?
Nice link, Charles, but it dosen't help me to identify the uniforms, on the kit figures. So can someone tell me if they are M38 or M42 pattern?
I could just build the vehicle, but that sort of defeats the object
Thanks anyway guys :-)

Sorry for the confusion The paint is Panzer Grey, the same color used on the panzers.

There is not a lot of difference in the smocks. If I were you I would use the figures provided. A lot of us could not tell the difference anyway.
This site has the Waffen SS OOB. It will help in picking your dio location.
