Hello people
I need some closeup pics of weapon slings, im gona try making some with foil but need pics for more detail like the buckels and how theyr attached etc. Carnt seem to find any close up photos. Id prefere to try making some rather than buy PE . Has anyone made these slings and/or got pics/advice,, what colour were they on these weapons ? Please help...Andy

I can't help you with the pictures, but I can tell you that the slings more often than not came in leather or olive drab material similar to that which web gear is made of. You could paint them in any variety of shades of those colors. You can use foil, as was previously suggested, or tape and get pretty good results.

Hi Andy ,
Try using electral tape , take a length and emerse it in White Spirt to stripe the sticky gule off and once dry can be painted olive drab or leather, since both types of straps where used.Have a look at so of the following reenactors , they seem to have a good impression of US troops during the ETO

I personally am a big fan of Aluminum oven trays... you can pick them up very cheaply in the supermarkets. Find out how the pattern of the sling is cut it out of the oventray and voila. With some experimenting the result should look something like this when painted
