I know I'm being a pain, but as there are so many of you tread heads this has got to be the quickest way to get the info I need. I would love to enter your Barbarossa Campaign (if it is allowed for a wing thing builder?) I have absolutley no referances what so ever and with the aircraft group builds and Campaigns I'm involved in no real time for extensive research. I am able to aquire a Panzer Kampfwagon (PKfw?) II Ausf F/G, 1/35 Tamiya. It is boxed with figures but depicts a desert machine.
1. Was this vehicle used in Operation Barbarossa?
2. If yes can someone point me in the direction of markings?
3. A link to pics would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Mal

Please see the list that I posted on the Operation Barbarossa Group Build thread for acceptable vehicles. Yes, the Panzer II Ausf. F is acceptable.

Mal,
Every version of the Panzer II was seen in Russia.Yours is the final up armoured version. The kit depics an Africacorp scheme so nix the figures for your Barbarrosa build.

Yes every version of the Panzer II was seen in Russia, but that is not the question. The question is would the vehicle be appropriate for Operation Barbarossa and yes most were, but not all versions fo the Panzer II are appropriate. The Ausf. F that Mal is asking about is appropriate, but the Ausf. J and Ausf. L for example are not.

Mal,
IIRC there was an article in Fine Scale Modeler last year about building this model. I will check when I get home tonight (it's 08:30AM here in Richmond, Virginia) and let you know in this thread.

Mal,
It is in Fine Scale Modeler, December 2001, page 36 - 40.The writer uses aftermarket tracks and photoetch. If you don't want to go that far, there are some good tips.
It should give you some ideas.
If you don't have this copy, PM me and I'll scan the article and email to your address on the profile page.
