Greetings all,
Some possible stowage options for some M4's I've yet to finish. Nothings fixed down, just trying out some ideas.
M4 Sherman Mk I - 144th RAC
M4 Sherman Mk I Hybrid - 144th RAC
M4 Sherman Vc Firefly - 1Bn RTR
Comment welcome.
Cheers
Al

Looks good Al. The only thing that stands out to me are the tarps atop the turret bustle stowage box. My thinking is that they would block line of sight for the commander using his periscope.

Hi Al,
Another great set of photos that I've added to my folder.
Yeah, Roy is spot on.
The early Sherman cupolas were not that great for tank commanders to obseve their surroundings, hence the change to the all-round cupolas with the 6 view ports on later versions.
Those tarps would just compound already bad situation.
Speaking of later model M4's, I noticed that in some of your earlier galleries that your late version M4A1 Sherman Mk. II had a late model high bustle turret with a loader's hatch, but mounted on a "small hatch" mid production upper hull.
I've seen photos of M4 composite hull "hybrids" with the late turrets and loader's hatches but nothing like your model.
Was this an actual vehicle, maybe something cobbled together in a REME workshop?
