I was thinking small dots darker colours on lighter bits of camo and visa versa.

Hi again, well it's been a long while since I managed to do anything on this kit what with work and everything but finally managed to get something done. Sorted out a few little niggles that I had whith the kit, managed to put a wash on to tone down the camo pattern and put the decals on. This is my first attempt at mud on tracks and I'm not too happy with it. Would appreciate any insights that people might have to help.
Talking of tracks this is the first time I've used vinyl ones and I never realised what a pain they are! Despite giving them a coat of primer the paint decided it didn't want to stick. After several coats of clear and a couple of washes they finally settled down and look ok but it's never again for me, from now on I'll be using indy links if possible.
Anyway please have a look and pass on any tips, tricks or criticisms that you may have. Just to say though it's not finished as it still needs antennas and I'm planning on giving it rolled Barracuda style nets tied to the turret side as demonstrated on Plasticwarfare.se just got to give them a go!!

Cheers for posting this, having seen this i`ve gone out and bought one of my own as a companion to my Tamiya Leopard 2 A6.I will be raiding the Eduard etch set for the Revell kit for bits like the exhausts but thanks to all for the heads up on the rear deck.
P.S. If anyone has a photo of the engine deck, any chance that they can post it here coz i`d like to see the real thing.

Excellent job!
I experienced Trumpeter (yes, it's the same brand) vynil tracks on the Sturer Emil and I had the same problems as you, and they were also TIGHT!
I think I'll get a Danish one... but not now, as I'm gathering the money for a compressor for my airbrush!

Hi Thord, thanks for the new pics, whats the little black ariel for, have you boys in the Swedish army started smuggling ghetto blasters into the turrets ??
My first love will always be the Challenger 2 but from what i`ve seen the Leopard and the Strv.122 now run a pretty close second, does anyone do any ARV versions of the Leo coz now i`d love to do one.

The antenna is for the GPS, you have the black antenna rod and then you have a circular GPS-antenna at the corner, just under the rod.
The GPS is an upgrade so it's not present on some of the images.
As for the Bergepanzer Büffel it's available in resin from Elite Modell

Thanks for all the interest guys. Work on it has been put on the back burner at the moment due to work, hopefully I'll find some time soon. I'm not too happy with the mud as it seems a bit monotone so I'm going to add some lighter tones and some pigments.
Just a quick question swede, it seems a bit of a strange place for a GPS antenna as it doesn't look the most robust of items and if Swedish tank crews are anything like ours then its going to get trodden on. Chally 2 has them mounted on the turret as part of the Bowman fit.

I don't know why they put it there, on the CV90 it's placed on the turret roof.
There is a small sticker on the antenna that says "don't step here" and I'm sure the crews are instructed not to climb on the GPS.

Glad to see you haven't forgotten about this one. It looks great. I bought the same kit just this weekend. I couldn't resist the camo. Or the price.
