Did I miss something?
On the Perth Military Modelling Site, in New Kit News, Hauler is listed as having a "HLX48212 JEEP basic set (for TAMIYA)" under the 1/48 section.
Does Tamiya make a 1/48th Jeep?
There's none listed on the Tamiya America site, can someone confirm?
I think its an error of some kind (its also listed on Hauler's Web Site).
If its not, where can I one (or more!!)?

Look for their new upcoming 1/48 US Infantry at Rest set (32552). An unnamed "1/4 ton Utility" vehicle is included. I guess they wanted to avoid the licensing issues...

I'm excited about it!!!

Wayne,

You're not seeing things. Tamiya pulled an end run and is marketing it with a 1/48 figure set.

yup,

There's a light vehicle (jeep) in the 1/48 US soldiers at rest set... now has anyone bought this kit and have a more detailed review of it? (like a comparison with the 1/35 version?)

Thanks !!!

Sure missed that one!

I think Tamiya may not sell as many without having the Jeep name on the box. If they had paid Chrysler, they could have covered the cost with the increased sales. My 2 cents.

Thanks Again

I don't think that's entirely true! The fact that it comes with a figure set is a HUGE bonus. Remember you're buying the figures, the jeep is a bonus of sorts! I think the fact the jeep is included will boost the figure sales of that particular set!

There's a write up here link which also compairs it with the Hasegawa kit. The Tamiya parts break-down is a little diferent from their 1/35 kit, the body uses seperate side panels. Detail seems finer than the Hasegawa kit, the steering wheel is noticably less chunky and the m/g is better but no engine which is included with the Hasegawa versions.
