In a slightly different News report, we bring details of the forthcoming 1/35th set figure sets from Masterbox Limited along with a little ''exclusive'' - the first images of their British Paratroop figures. The full story along with images of many of the new releases, can be seen:

They all look great to me.

Maybe they'll not come up as finely detailed as Dragons Gen 2 sets but they beat them hands down with their imaginative poses and subjects.

Only my opinion of course but I'd say out of all the injection moulded stuff available at the moment Masterbox rates as number one for creativity in its sets. Almost mini dioramas in themselves.

Hope its not to long before we see the KfZ 1 Type 170 VK /Kit number 3530 and KfZ 2 Type 170 VK Kit number 3531 out as well.

Thanks for the preview Jim.

With the inclusion of the Gamekeeper type figure there's a definite air of "The Eagle has Landed" about the Para set

Very dynamic poses.
Of course I'm drawn to the more mundane of the resting crew.
I'm really impressed with their latest box art. The bailing out crew looks great, and I'm sure it will be popular.

There are very imaginative poses here.
I'm impressed with the detail in the faces also.
What are the white plastic accessories?
The gamekeeper looked to have snagged himself some '70s Tamiya coneys...

So THAT'S where they came from! I've seen this type of thing a few times, with Masterbox and other manufacturers, when they use a commercial set to get dimensions correct and then sculpt the accesories or additions they've been trying out and want to add.

As I said in the Report, too many manufacturers are doing far too many 'generic' figures, they really are NOT bringing a figure set together in the same 'Situation' . Masterbox are continuing to produce 'Vignettes-in-a-Box' - they've begun their series of linked sets for Stalingrad and it looks like they're now doing a similar thing for Kursk. It may be, and i've no way of knowing yet, that the Para sets will follow a similar line...
