When I need a break from building painting models, I paint resin, plaster, and ceramic Santas, Houses, etc. Here's a few of my work. These are just a few thumb nails images of them. The full link is http://train.missouri.org/~emgeer/santa.htm

No, I don't sell them. I desplay them on a shelf until the holidays. Then I set them out.

This part of my hobby began about 4 years ago. My parents gave me one of those small plaster houses (one built around a christmas bulb) The type you could find in a Walmart, Hobby Lobby, etc.

Since that time I've slowly added more and more houses, etc. THey sit on a shelf until the holdiays and I then make a Christmas Village.

I started with 1 Santa and have been slowly expanding my collection. I try and paint them to depict various cultures or types.

Nice job - what a cool way to keep your skills up to date and constant.

My out of modeling fun is to crash through the woods on a mountain bike or play chicken with crazy american drivers on my road bike.

How else should I take it? I've always considered a comparison to someones mother as an compliment. #:-)

I thought you were going to say you fly F-16's or BASE jump or something. Painting Santas isn't all that far off from painting models, is it? Nice work though.

Very nice. I like them. I'll compare you to my mom too. She buys those resin birds from Target and repaints to more accurate colors. Guess she's a feather counter, huh?

Nope, the close it I ever got to a F-16 was a few that were parked on the flight line. Never got into BASE jumping.

I paint late at night or when I got nothing else to do. For excitement, I jump off of 200 feet cliffs or climb them. For lighter enjoyment, its photography and working with youth in both cub scouts and boy scouts. But for ultimate joyment its spending time with my wife, 2 daugthers and my son.

Ineresting thread!

I acctually painted a Santa for my Girlfriends Mom for X-Mas, only thing she aint got it just yet, maybe for next year
As for other activities outside modeling I ride my horses, got 4 of them now. I also do Civil War reenactmens where I am a Corporal in the CSA Cavalry, (Although I prefer the Yankee uniforms over ours as I love the looks of many riders in same outfits compared to our mismatched get what you can outfits!). Also enjoy making things such as Native American Bows and Arrows, Leather work such as holsters and other leather stuff for Reenactments. Oh yeah, almost forgot to say I spend time with my Girl and do different things with her. Although I prefer Modeling to most things and it takes up most of my spare time!
