Okay with the recent slew of Alied releases what kits are Allied modelers still pining for.
I'd like to see some DV Sherman and actally I don't think it will be that long til we get them.
I saw the Somua mentioned somewhere as a needed kit. What would you guys like to see?

Wow, great question, where do you begin? Most Allied subjects are stil woefully underrepresented.
My picks:
1. An up-to-date kit of the M4A3 (75mm, wet): Merely one of the most common US tanks in 1944-45, and DML has all the pieces they need for this, but they haven't boxed one up. C'mon guys, it's a piece of cake.
2. M5/M5A1 series: Maybe AFV Club will come thru here....we'll see.
3. A good M18 TD would be awesome to have. I'm not holding my breath.
4. The poor French....the Charb B-1bis is nice and the H35 has gotten a pretty good kit. How about the Renault R35 and FT17, the two most common French tanks of 1940? Very colorful, widely exported....should be popular subjects but no state-of-the-art kits exist.
5. Updated SU-85 and SU-122. The tamiya kits are now 30 or so years old and it shows. Again DML is almost there but hasn't pulled the trigger.
6. SU-76 - the second-most-common Soviet AFV. Miniart has promised it. We'll see.
7. The French again - how about the FCM-36 and Char 2D? The Panhard armored car? The AMR 33 recon tanks (very cool, intricate-looking vehicles....so what if the real one sucked
8. The Japanese Type 89, because it is the ugliest tank ever built and I want one. No other reason.
9. The British cruisers - A9, A10, A13...and a new Crusader. Again very colorful, intricate subjects. We need something with which to shoot up those early Panzer Is and all those Italian tanks we'll be seeing any day now (see below).
10. A state-of-the-art Churchill, early marks such as the MK III and IV, convertible to the Mk VI.
11. A good Bren/universal carrier.
12. The Italians ? M-11/39 ? The AB-41/43 series is nice, how about the L3/33 and L6/40 ? The Semovente 47/32 please? No one has a good start on any of these but so what. An L6/40 would be my top pick here.
13. I know this will never happen but a Komintern artillery tractor would be nice. A decent T-40 would be super. More softskins.
There's my wish list for today.

I'm disallowing these as they are not Allied
Good answers though I was thinking more in terms of what has never been released even in a crappy version

For starters
Light Tank, Mk VI, VIA, VIB and VIC, Light Tank, Mk VII, Tetrarch, Cruiser Tank, Mk I, Cruiser Tank, Mk II, Cruiser Tank, Mk II (A13) and Mk IV (A13 Mk II), Cruiser Tank, Mk V Covenanter (A13 Mk III), Infantry Tank, Mk I, Matilda I, Infantry Tank, Mk III, Valentine, Mk III/V, Infantry Tank, Mk IV, Churchill, Mk I to VI, Carrier, Loyd, Humber Light Recce Car, Humber Armoured Car, Ford, Lynx, Scout Car, Light Tank, M22, Locust
Since the dark siders have their paper panzers i.e. Maus, E100, Grille 17 etc. Then you could add to the list:
TOG, Tortoise, T14 Assault Tank (British A33), T93 GMC, T95 GMC
Given a bit more time I could come up with some more including AFVs from France, USSR, Canada, Australia, India, New Zealand .....
cheers
David

Pat, Great thread -
Here's mine
M29 Weasel - I have always thought they were cool!
Aussie Centinel - yeah I know, but I have always liked it!
Matilda - TMD to the rescue ? Yeah I hope
Morris C9 - Did I even get that right??? CB9??
Sexton
Grizzly
Early Churchill I, II, III
M5/M9 US Halftracks - you know the rounded rear and flat fender variety
Its not WW2 but I would really like it if someone would do the M48 series.
Baby's crying gotta run....

I'm not much of an allied modeller, but I would love to see a new updated version of the M24 Chaffee, not the old Italeri version, but maybe from Dragon.

Pat, that was a loaded question are you a politian? It kills me because people complained about all the German halftrack versions that Dragan produced. I may be wrong but I think the Sherman may be second runner up when it comes to differnt versions. I think we should see more Brit stuff espically soft skin and armored cars.

Hands down, the Mark I "tadpole" WWI tank, and the Mark IV Brit WWI tank, and also the St Chamond--by a better manufacturer than Emhar! Preferably Tamiya or DML!
On top of that, the XM-! Abrams prototype, and the MBT-70!

Maybe not all armored, but I would love to see:
90 mm M1 AA gun. My father served on these in Iceland, and then France and NW Europe. In Iceland they engaged German a/c, including FW200s, then in Holland they shot up a column of Panthers.
M15 AA halftrack (the one with the turret containing a 37mm and 2X .50 calibers.
Matilda II (to replace the old Tamiya)
Valentine (just about any mark)
M2 American Light tank, good for early Pacific.
M51 (I think) Aa trailer, holding a Maxon turret.
M4 Calliope, to replace the oop Italeri one.
M3 medium series, including the cast hull versions.
In addition to the Matilda 2, just about anything British.

Some artillery - U.S. 75mm Pack Howitzer and 57mm AT gun and up-to-date M1 and M2 howitzers (with crews) would be nice. And an M7 Priest. I'm not too picky so even a re-release of the old Italeri would be adequate here. Kangaroo APC too. And a Weasel tracked utility vehicle.

How about a M4A3 Sherman (wet or dry, 75 or 76mm) with an interior. It's been done for the Tiger, why not a Sherman.

Roy,
Hobby Boss has announced both M4 and M5 High Speed Tractors in 1/35 scale. Haven't been able to find out when they will be released though. A thumbnail picture of the M4 just showed up on their website, so maybe soon.

Tank recovery vehicles!
The diorama potential is shooper for these...
From the M31 TRV and variants to the M32 and variants. I feel I can add the M32 as Italeri's M32B1 version is wrong wrong wrong, and should be the early small hatch cast hull... There would then be call for more tanker crews in differing poses for these recovery scenes... But most of all the M31, for looking like an old clunker (it was mounted on the M3 Lee and variants) but being the version most in use and served through the end of the war in Europe...

First of all to seperate the lists into the 'Commercial' (a possibility for the manufacturers) and 'Unlikely' (great subjects, but unlikely ever to be kitted)...
I'd start with the Churchill. Beginning around the Mk 3. Leave the AVREs etc. to the AM people...
The M9 Half-track. (International Harvester) which would give LOADS of possibilities. Due to the amount which were provided under Lend-Lease, this would be commercial..
Valentine - ABSOLUTELY!
BT-7
More British A/Cs
Sherman Calliope
DV Sherman - the lack of models is totally ridiculous...
New M10... Apart from these, not a lot more really (Matilda yes, 5.5'' Gun and Matador - in the ''Non-commercial' section)
