Toke,
Looks pretty real to me, but why is the name of "Big T" spelled "TAMAJA" instead of "TAMIYA"? Could this be a false, or is this a joke for April's Fool?

I too think it's an April Fool's joke too. That's a photo of the real vehicle with the turret kind of SFXed to look like a drawing. Tamiya often draws their box arts, just like DML. Notice the tracks---that's not a drawing.
Someone needs to translate the Japanese at the lower right corner to see what it says.
Also, SO MANY FEATURES for an IFV kit? Interior, add-on armor, figures, working suspension...we're talking close to $100 USD here for no modern Tamiya kit ever had that many features before.
Also, I think Tamiya always places their double-star logo on the top corners of the box, not the bottom corners. EVEN IF someone modified the box art so as not to get sued by Tamiya for "leaking" the information, that person has the Tamiya fonts to make the "J" in Tajama so the prankster could come from Japan or Tamiya company himself.
If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. I'll believe it when I see it and I'm not fooled with this announcement. Someone can get into BIG TROUBLE if Tamiya found out who pulled this prank. Intel always pursues and sues people messing around with its logo.
Pete

Even if it is a joke, that vehicle looks kinda cool, if they released one I'd buy it.

This is too funny to be true
I`m not an armour modeler and I don`t know if this is an existing vehicle
But If somebody was stupid enough to make a Fake boxart and then spells the name incorrect......... then I think I take two of them #:-) #:-)
no make that three ..... Three Stridsfordon from Tamaja .... this has to be a guy with a brilliant sense of humour

To bad it was a joke, I would really have loved to but a Strf 90 on the shelf (along with all the other boxes
)
Well, I guess it's back to dreaming again... Unless Trumpeter is continuing to be nice to us Swedes...

Damn straight - that's one sexy piece of kit. It would make a fine replacement for our ageing (and thats being nice) M113s

I think you hit the nail on the head Trisaw. And all this on Tamiyas first Swedish vehicle? This was placed on Stockholm´s IPMS website on April 1st. There is a group who call themselves MOSA (modellers of Swedish Armor) and this would be their dreams come true. Either it was one of them or somebody to get a rise out of them. I cant believe its true.

Many years ago, Tamiya had a model of the Swedish S tank, this low slung turretless vehicle reminiscent of a Hetzer.

Well Id better confess that Ive been pulling your legs a bit here.
Of course its an April Fools joke as most( if not all) of you suspect. But a good and cunning one in my opinion.
Sadly for any juridical process, Im not the original prankster in this case, although I have a suspect. Regarding legal matter, I would like to remember that it could only be put to trial if the joke could harm business for the copyright holder. If I were Mr T, I would start by going after the ones that copy their kits, thus denying them profit. But I would like to believe that Mr T has just as much humour as the rest of us.
Also when I look at the responses, I think it would be a good idea to make a kit for real out of this vehicle. But lets have realistic figures and model then. If Tamaja now makes it perhaps the joke would be on me?
However the phrase below isnt there without a reason.
