OK, since we're getting closer to our start date I'm interested to see what we have decided on building. So please list your kit(s) here.
I have the Academy M60A1 with dozer blade.
Of course I will need to leave off the add-on armor. Anyone who has built this or knows a lot about M60's, feel free to give me some info.
So, let's hear what you are building...

Hey there,
I will be doing a T34/85 with "just a few" modifications -
DML T34/85
ModelKasten Tracks
CMD Czech Production Turret and barrel
Aber and scratchbuilt details
I haven't decided on the exact markings... still researching... but I am leaning towards some kind of third world country... possibly one of the many Arab/Isreali conflicts or one of the other third world conflicts that were so "popular" during the cold war years.

Tim

I will be building an Italeri Leopard 1A2 in Italian markings, and a M60A2 "Starship" . Both out-of-the-box.

I'm going to submit a Skybow M41A3 Walker BullDog for sure, and perhaps two other subjects that shall remain nameless for the present...

Probably going to do an M-60A2 in an MERDC scheme unless I decide to do am M-48A3 in Vietnam era Marine markings. THen again, since they will both ber essentially OOB, I may do a production line and do both. :-)

I'll go for a B1 Centauro.
Bombshell: careful with that kit. To build it with Italian markings properly the decals supplied with the kit are wrong. I'll be very pleased to see a L1A2 (I served on them for years) f you want I can send the right ones from the Cavalleggeri di Treviso (28°) Regiment of the Italian Cavalry in mid 80s. Using these decals the only one mod you have to do is to make the roadwheels "slick" instead of "ribbed". Let me know...

FYI, the applique armor was in use prior to the Gulf War. I've spent a couple of days on an M60A3TTS before let me know if you need some help.I have the Academy M60A1 with dozer blade.

Undecided what to build, although I won't start the project until after I complete the M1/York conversion.
Oh yeah, just remembered...the Tamiya Centurion with Eduard PE, Fruil tracks, Barrel Depot barrel.

Never did a group build before. Maybe, this will be a kick in my ass
to build a kit faster than usually (one 1/35 tank a year).
My kit will be the Tamiya T- 55 (what else- it´s a classic cold- war aera tank).
First, I wanted to do a Soviet vehicle, but I think I will switch over to do a Polish or Czech tank.
Or I will skip this one completely and will build the T- 64 tank, where little detail was known on it during the cold- war aera.
I will sleep it over...and over...and over...

Notes of caution: The main gun travel lock has amazingly poor directions for attaching it. You should go to Guntruck's site, linked from one of his posts, to see how this is attached. The part isn't even identifiable from the illustration. In fact, the position of a number of parts, many of them quite small, are hard to discern from the exploded views. The .50 cal's mounts will need some attention as they are quite a tight fit to each other and the one in front of the hatch has very little clearance behind the periscope guard. If you plan on tdoing the Vietnamese version with the gun shield on the .50, there's a huge pin ejector hole on the backside. Despite these issues, it's a nice kit.

Still haven't made up my mind. The frontrunners are the Tamiya T-72M1, Skif BMP-3 or Skif MT-LB. I'll browse through the boxes tonight and try to decide.

I will be doing the M110A2 OOB in MN ANG markings for one of the last 4 guns in service with any branch of the US Military. (Named, if you can believe it, Huey, Lewey, Dewey, and Doc.)
There may be more builds, time dependant.

If that is the case I may actually do a German one. Look at this picture I found, sure looks different:
Thanks for the tips and decals offer anyway! Really appreciate it!

AJLaFleche,
thanks for the the heads-up on the AFV Club's Bulldog. I have noticed that some of the illustrations are kind of vague on which position a part should be attached. I have been doing some research and gathering pictures for the areas that the instructions fall short on.
