Wow this is a very good looking diorama. The damage effects look great as do the shark fins! Is that sea made out of papier mache, it looks very convincing. Interesting foam technique. The only thing I'd say needs work would be to put some foam around the raft as well. The figure's faces are a bit red too. Overall good job, you can imagine the desperation those men must be feeling!

Very nice dio. Your damage to the plane is very nicely done as is the water.

Thanks for sharing!

Murat,

Very good dio,but in my opinion ,if the plane is ditch,it will be wet,so,some gloss varnish to simulate wet look in some parts of the plane could be nice. But very good dio the same.

Nice looking dio. Don't see too many water crash scenes, like the damage and weathering of the SBD, shows it's been out in the hot Pacific sun for a while! Thanks for sharing this...good break from armor stuff!

Cheers!

Wow, I love that Dauntless. I had a 1/32 version when I was a kid. The plane looks truly brilliant. I agree that some foam or ripples around the raft would be good. My only two niggles are (1) the foam looks a bit too solid and dry. Any way of making it more glossy or transluscent? Also (2) I feel that you should be able to see a bit more of the sharks' bodies below the surface. But I guess it's too late to sort out the sharks. What's the water made of?

Nice dio. Not to burst your bubble or anything, but "OLD CROW" was a P-51 flown by Bud Anderson. He also flew a P-39 with the same name, but the P-51 is the the one most associated with it. Nice work. Thanks for sharing.

Thats a beautiful job on the model and the crew. Its an interesting scene, and doesn't lack for detail. Water is always hard to pull off, but you've done pretty well at it.

My only problem with it, (and with most ditching scenes) is that the aircraft is way too high out of the water. It appears to be sitting on the water rather than floating in it. By the time the crew would be out of it, it should be settling very fast, with most of the wing below the surface, and the cowling would be almost under by then. Most ditched aircraft sank like stones, particularly the Navy single engine jobs.
