The Best Value Models base kit was shipped by Azimut in about 10 days to my home (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) and was about $95 Cdn including shipping. That was before our dollar jumped to it's present rate of more than $1.04 US so one may get a better deal now.

Yes, the lower hull required major surgery....sort of. The kit comes with resin insert and coversion pieces and the instructions show exacltly where to cut the upper and lower hull to make the vehicle shorter (8 wheels down to 6). There's a replacement cabin roof with the properly offset turret ring and a large chunk of resin to place in the lower hull gap after the cuts there are made. This converts the 8 wheel configuration to the 6 wheel Cougar design. It all fits very well and as long as you cut exactly where and by how much it says in the instructions, it was relatively trouble free. Hacking major hull components apart can always be a bit scary but "measure twice, cut once" was my motto.

Thanks buddy, in PMMS was anouced that Best Value will going to release soon a Chilean Army Piranha 6x6 with the israeli TCM-20 turret, so I was wondering how went your conversion since will be the same for the part I asked before buying it.....in case they actually release it (hope so....dont want to scratch it )

Thanks for posting this model. I'm totally blank about it and this is the first time I saw it. Nice built but probably rather expensive.

I'm working on some crew figures for this vehicle right now. I hope to have them finished in the next day or two so I'll post a few update pics here with the 3-man crew in place.

PROJECT UPDATE

Hi All;
As promised, I finished my crew figures this weekend and here's some images of the finished model with the crew in place. The heads and bare hands are from Hornet while the rest of the figures are slightly modified Academy IDF tank crew figures. They appear to be the closest match to modern Canadian AFV crew uniforms.



















I can't say enough about the Hornet products. This was my first time using them and they are superbly cast, really lifelike and very finely detailed. Each has it's own expression and are sculpted in a way that make them appear as individuals. They really are very nice.
