Hi folks,

I'm beginning to start on a new new project for me. My first armour!!
I want to build the british warrior MCV that has been used by the UNPROFOR troops in Bosnia. I don't want to buy a book because this will be my only modern armour.
Any of you guys that have some links to some photographs for me? It all could be very usefull.
Or anyone who allready build this kit and has some hints & tips for me? (Im using the Acadamy one)

Thx in advance
Wesley

I don't think there's a lot of options. This is all that comes to mind.

I realy can't find any reference pics of those warriors.
I'm thinking about making the one of IFOR. '96 Bosnia.
Not with 100% pleasure, but if I can't any from the other one

I know you said no books but you should really try to track down 'Warrior Company' - Europa Militaria #25 by Simon Dunstan, from The Crowood Press. Lots of good pics of the white UN Warriors. A must have for Warrior builders IMHO.

Hi Wesley,

I've just gone through exactly the same process. Just finishing it off at them moment.
I only found about 4 pics on the net of White Warriors

Anyway, what I did was use reference pics of those vehicles and other white UN vehicles to get the general idea. This is what I came up with.

good luck with your project!!!!
cheers,
Jurgen.

Thx Guys.
David, thank you for the link. When I got some more time I dig right through it. Got to work in about an hour or so

Jurgen, That one came out very nice. But I've seen some pics of the warrior with the towhooks placed somewhere else then the Academy kit has them. I'll try to explain when I took some shots of mine.
That's why I'm looking for so much info as possible.
And 2 questions for you. What did you use for the dust? That looks great! And where did you get those equipmentbags? I'm looking for some personal things to fresh up the model. There was a crew of 3 and 7 infantery soldiers, so I can do something with that. Got the dio set-up all in my mind

cheers!

Thanks Wesley.

the equiment comes from Tamiyas' moderm equipment set.
The dust is a combination of 2 processes. First, a light build up of TAMIYA Buff sprayed around the bottom of the vehicle. Next was a dusting of CMK Light Earth weathering powders.
Can't wait to see how your's has turned out.

Cheers,
Jurgen.

Don't worry too much about having a lot of kit for the outside of the Warrior as it was very rare for them to operate fully manned. Usually they had 2 or 3 dismounts in the back who acted as local security when the wagon was stationary and top cover on the move. Because of this their kit usually went in the back. The gunner and cmdr usually had their webbing on the back of their hatches. One of the AM manufacturers make a hatch set with molded on webbing but I'm not sure which one. Anyone know?

Paul,

I have ordered a set of the hatches with webbing attached. Contact Gordon Brown at Cromwell and he will send you an updated kit list.

You can also see the hatches in Issue 13, May 2007 or Model Military International....in Pete Usher's Warrior build article..."Wadi Warrior".

The hatches with the webbing are accurate for Warriors up until about early 2005 in Iraq(from all the images I have seen)....after that it appears the webbing was not hung on the hatches due the urgency to close the hatches during molotov cocktail attacks and the facts that they would also burned, be stolen when hatches down if they couldn't be stowed inside, and the increased used of load bearing vests.

Jason,

Thanks for the info. I'll guess I'll have to bug Gordon as I dug up that issue and the hatches look pretty good.
