Hilbert,
Too bad about the decals. I know how that feels, and we all have botched up the paint once or twice. Post a picture of the model, maybe some of the painters will have some tips on how to correct the problem.

The problem is solved. First I removed the paint that I sprayed over the decals. Then I scraped of the decals with a sharp hobby knife, and removed the remaining paint. Now I have a bare turret with no paint. Just spray it again and it looks like before the decal problem
Update soon I hope,
Ow! I have got a dio idea, The tank is standing a Pavement and the girl is there to say they have to move. The title of the small diorama is,
please move along! (but then in russian) What do you think?
Please would you move?
What is the problem?
Got someone a better idea, please let me know.

Thought, why should I use a huge diorama if this work either!
Let me know what you think..

Hello,
The tank is finished but the diorama has not. I have still add thing to it. Small details and I have to weather it just right.
Hope you like the results so far!

Hi Hilbert
I think the modelling and painting is excellent but I'm sorry to say I do not like the way the model sits on the base, overhanging as it does.
It does nothing for the composition in my opinion, in fact I think it distracts you from the subject because of the excessive overhang.
It's like the tanks teetering there waiting to fall off and like some comedy sketch the guys on board dare not move one way or the other for fear it tipping over. You can image the girl saying how did you get stuck up there ?
But as I said the actual modelling and painting is very nicely done. Sorry.
Alan

I've seen this style of diorama/vignette done a few times lately with varying degrees of success. Is it just me or does it seem to be a recent trend? Kinda like certain methods are the latest, then either stick or fall out of favour. As I recall, first there was:
drybrushing (seems somewhat shunned these days)
then
pre-shading (often over-done)
followed by
paint-chipping (often over-done)
followed by
"partial" bases with the subject overhanging
I'm not necessarily saying it's gimmicky. It's not my usual thing, but hey if it works for you that's all that matters. I don't think anyone can say it wouldn't catch their attention on a contest table or a display shelf.
BTW, the extra work you put into the KV-1 paid off, it looks great! Dirt on the groundwork looks pretty convincing too.

Well, your not the first one. I have learned my lessons out of this one. And I'm really happy that I see thos one is a LOT better then my project before this.
I didn't knew this is a latest trend. I thought, well, let do some kinda different. And it works. You like it or you don't. And, the best thing I learned from this model and base is that I have to build what I like, and not what other people like. Now I;m also saying, modelling is 100% for fun, and a little tiny bit realism!
Ah, well, next model is as usual...

I think it's always good to experiment, try new ideas each build. It's a good way to expand your skills, find out what works and what doesn't. Who wants to do the same thing everytime? It's great that you're at least thinking outside the box (or base in this case!)
