Hello everyone!

First time for me to post on this Яusso-Soviэt Forum I wanted to show my latest project. The Trumpeteer KV 1 Ehkranami with verlinden engine.
The engine is just a horrible piece of cr*p. Less details, but I want to build this kit straight away. But, because the engine there has to be done a lot! Sanding, playing with a saw, etc.

Well, this is the result so far.

Let me know what you think!

Kind regards Hilbert Zuijdendorp

Scroll down to the 'KV-1 Interior thread' a little way down the page for an excellent overhead view of the engine installed in the KV-1 at Aberdeen. Wonder what Verlinden used for reference?

Hilbert,

You have done a nice job with it and the engine compartment really adds a lot.

I recently completed this kit and have base coated it.

Have you considered replacing the engine cover cable with a piece of wire or thread?

Kepp up the good work and I look forward to seeing the completed model.

Looks very good so far. I second the motion to replace the cable to the engine hatch with tristed fine wire or "rope". It would look better than the plastic cable.

I think the Verlinden engine is a similar facsimily from the old days, before all this real nice reference came out.

Hello,

Here is an update again. I'm not replacing the cable from the hatch because I think it is fine like it is now. And I didn't want to make this model to difficult.. And there is an engine in it!! Not wanted to make it difficult I hear you say.....

Well, I painted the engine. I will give it some washes and some parts still to be painted though. Well, that is why I have a question.

Wich colour should I paint the "bulb"?? That weard thing on top of the engine??

After painting everyting the last thing that should be done is playing with Mig pastels.
Hope you like it and for now I'll keep my mouth shut! Have fun!!!

Hilbert

Sadly, in all the color pictures I took of a WWII vintage, but modernized, T-45 85 I managed to miss that thing. I'll dig a little more and see what shows up.

I think I don't get it

Do you mean that I'm using the wrong colours? Or you are looking what colour the "bulb" should be?

Thanks for clear this up!

Kind regards,

Hilbert

I mean I was going to look for the big round thing on the top of the engine. I think it is an air cleaner, but that is just a guess.

If you do a search for KV-1 you might find more engine pictures.

Look at this site. There is a very nice drawing of the interior in a side view.

Thanks!

that is the only reference that I have. Well, I should do wit it, I think the engine colour would be the same as the modern engines. Ah, well it is just a hobby right?

Thanks for helping!

One little suggestion on the figures. You could put one of the men on the back by the open hatch looking forward. Then the story could be "why won't the engine start?" and bring the open engine hatch into focus with the figures. Great job on the model.

Is this better??? I think this setting should tell the story that the two figures on the rear deck are talking about the engine.

Tell me what you think!

Hilbert, adding the young woman changes the dynamics. Maybe the expert coming to show the "boys" how it's done. She looks a lot like a Polish girl I that was at my high school. Maybe have her by the guy on the ground with all the crew looking over at her? Put the man on the back where she is. Just ideas, what do you like, and go with that.

Hello,

Yesterday I treid to place the decals... and, it became f*ck*d up
I sprayed the whole turret over again (yes again, 5th time! ) And leave it as it is now. The decals became through the paint and I thought sh*t.. so now I'm painting the decals over with ... paint

These are pictures before the disaster..

Thanks for looking!

Hilbert
