Nice reveiw Dave, I have just picked up the kit as well, I have noticed that there are no brake drums on the rear wheels is this correct ? If so what suitable replacements could you suggest, if any

Tim, correct, you really do not get separate break drums like on the Heller or Tamyia CCKW. The small amount of light you may see through between an actual wheel, and an actual break drum is hardly noticeable. If you aren't worried about wheels spinning-I normally glue all my wheels solid so my wheeels never spin (I'm pass the age of zoom-zoom across the carpet, I also glue solid any and all working features, so you'll never hear me rah rah about any of these, I don't play with my models after they are photographed) You could probably file down the rear backing plates to a smaller diameter, and finagle a good solid mounting to allow a little light to be seen through the wheel handholds.

Great review Grumps, thanks. I just picked up this kit yesterday from an LHS 'cause I saw your entry in the Wheels and Tires campaign so I had to have it. Bummer about the tires but I think I may try the 'mount-on-a-dremel-and-use-the-razor-saw' fix I saw on a couple of other forums about this kit.

I have a question about this vehicles service life...I wonder since this was mostly an export version, if some examples ever ended up in Canadian service...anyone?
