nice potential as POWs too... cool

Well, I guess I know how I am going to fill in some dead space in a dio I am working on

Exactly what I thought as well.
Convenient for a continuation war diorama. The figures make nice POW's, while the guns can be put into the hands of the Finns herding them. Ammo pouches, canteens and extra helmets suit Finnish soldiers as well (four extra helmets I counted if you use the peaked cap and field caps).
Now if miniart started making some Finns as well...

They certainly aren't the happiest looking group on the block are they?

Oh yeah, how happy would you be to be assigned to a Red Army rifle outfit in WW2? Is their life expectancy measured in minutes or hours ? I envy those "poor" guys who got stuck doing things like guarding the beaches around Pearl Harbor.....

Seriously, most of Miniart's figure sets have been excellent, except for the mushy-looking weapons, so these are very welcome. As for POWs, this set of figures would look good escorting a bunch of nazi supermen back to Moscow too.....

The equipment would be useful for the Finns except the helmets, yes they did use the russian helmets but from what I have read they were mostly used on the home front with rear troops like the AA crews defending home and such; avoid being shot by their own side, but the 2 German helmets(WW1 and WW2), Italian helmets, slovakian style and swedish.

With the first three, you mean the two german types and the Italian? I was already getting ready to do some searching. Czech m/34 helmets would be nice indeed.
Quite obviously, WW2 German helmets aren't rare in 1:35, but I think the only styrene WW1 helmets are in ICM's figure sets. They're quite a must if you're doing winter war figures wearing helmets. Fortunately, the "model Cajander" outfit was much more common. But that's some more work again...
