Hey all...well since the Campaign folder isn't up yet....I will get in on the action and post some pics here.
First one......can you guess what the AFV is?
maybe with the hull on?
How about this one....has a little more work done on it.
Work is going slow, as it is sharing time with my Anchors Away campaign as well...and since it is over long before this one is....it is getting priority. Basically when the other has glue drying....lol
May even have enough time to build a second for the Cold War Campaign!!!! Not sure what thay will be!! If I get that far!!

Oh, when we get this campaign finished, I think a Modern Conflict campaign may be in order. 1990 to today. Lots that can be done there and certainly good reference material out there. Probably lots of interest too...
Anyone worked with CMK resin figures much? Not sure if I like them or hate them. The faces and heads seem really nice but some details like weapons seem a bit crude. Also a bit of clean-up due to the casting process.

Finally got started on that disaster of a Sheridan kit. Have managed so far to rebuild guntube, scratchbuild some armor shields and currently taking bits and pieces to scratch building a searchllight. Just when I started congratulating myself, I found out what a disaster the lower part of the hull is metal gears and connecting rods....my god its one of those freaking Tamiya toy tanks that ran on batteries, so off to the shop to pick up more Evergreen styrene sheets.....better strap in 'cause it's going to be a bumpy night. Thank God for celluclay guess what just went through the mud puddle/

I've made good progreass on my T64BV !
All major parts have been added and now i'm placing all the "small stuff" !
And that's takink time because the surface of this tank is realy "crowded" with all kind of optics, sensors, lights, reactive armor cells, fording gear, fuell cells...
also, i must realy thank mr Eduard for the nicce PE, because it realy improves the kit a lot !

Holy cow - you guys are rollin' Open the gates and let loose the kits.
All you guys are doing well on your builds so far. I like seeing all the detail work be added and the AM and scratch stuff.
Tank Carl - nice scratch detailing - its going to look good.
Gunny - ok - sit back and have a drink youre almost done.
scoccia - nice nice crisp detail as always.
viper - lookin' good and you're farther than I am.

I was going to have a few beers over the weekend and decide whether or not to finish & submit my Jaguar Sheridan to this Campaign...

Heh heh - I wanted to get out of the Gate quickly so I can have a shot at doing more than one model for the Campaign.
Everyone else's start here is great - pumps me up! There's some interesting model subjects being worked on.

Yeah I have a fair jump on my tank.....(Anyone guess what it is yet?), however the building of it is the easy part.....and the quick part....its the painting and weathering to make it look realistic that is going to take the time!!!

Gots started and making good progress with my SA-9 Gaskin/BRDM-2 TEL. :-) Nice little kit, some parts need modifications, though. Left most of the launcher parts at the office (where I build it during lunch break - hehehehe) but gots the hull, etc. with me at home and made some progress. Scratchbuilding the 2 mufflers as the kit parts are woefully inadequate for the job. Made holes for the optics over the driver and commander's sides. Will make better mold for the wheels to make resin copies. Doing more and more research. What started as purely OOTB becomes more than that. Sigh... a case of AMS perhaps? :-) When I do finish it with lots of time to spare, I think I'll gets me another BRDM and make that into a ATGM launcher - Spandrel carrier, perhaps.
Will post pix when I know how to do so.
On an unrelated note, I'm done with my Trumpeter Strv103B and will post pix of that soon. :-)

Nice to see some of you guys are getting under way.
I won't be able to start any modeling until I am done with school, which is to say, another 3 weeks. I have an Italeri Leopard 1A2 lined up for this but might pick something else up which builds a bit easier out-of-the-box. Its really hard to get back into modeling after almost a year away from it with a kit that doesn't fall together.
I can't barelly wait to start hacking on the plastic.
Cheers,

Cold War "Cook-Off" Campaign Update:
From Saturday evening, photos of my initial airbrushing on my M41A3 Walker BullDog. With Sunday being a family holiday, I hope to get basic National Symbols and unit markings on my model. Hope everyone is progressing well...

Very nice Gunnie!!! I built the Tamiya offering a while back and the crispness of the detail is nothing compared to your Skybow offering.
A quick question while I'm here, are we supposed to have a base for this contest or not?

Just a quick update on my M-60A2
The arm for the searchlight has been shaped to the correct conture for mounting the searchlight from the sacrificial M-48
I used 2 large lifting lugs from the M-48 to put on the rear corners of the A2's hull. The kit supplied parts are wrong.
I made a handle for the loader's hatch, and padlock hasps for the gunner's and loader's hatches.
2 of the parts for the bustle rack are in place, and the radio antenna's matching unit has been accurately attached to the rear of the turret,NOT to the bustle rack,as seen in the instructions.
the M-48 fire extinguisher pull handle box is mounted on the front slope.
I will have to add some bolt heads where the rubber fender extension on the front joins the fender.Later I will take some pictures, and put them in my Webshots album.

Hey GunTruck - Nice paint job, the fade is well done. What color is it?
Another curiosity question - what's the clear plastic thing its sitting on? Looks kinda like a lazy suzan almost.

I've started on my M548 in earnest. About half of the Diehl track is assembled and most of the hull is complete. Headlights have been drilled out to accomodate the Grief headlight lenses. Next step is to paint the interior. Should have some photos in about a week.

Primer coat of Tamiya XF-1 Flat Black, filter color coat of a mix made with 3 parts XF-62 Olive Drab to 1 part XF-4 Yellow Green - thinned 50% with Lacquer Thinner. The color filter is thinner on the Muffler Shields because I'm going to rust and heat sear the area later on down the weathering superhighway. The Mufflers got really hot on the Walker BullDogs - reported to glow at night.
It is sitting on a "lazy susan" type of turntable. I have about a half-dozen of these little turntables, and I use them to prevent me from handling the model as much as possible after the paint gets applied. I use them all the way through completion. They allow you to spin the model around and check all angles as your finishing it. Makes a good paint stand - as you can see too - as it's got Dull Cote operspray on it...

Is it too difficult to fix with brass or aluminum tubing?

Gunnie,
the problems with the main gun were three and now are two:
1) the central part of it looks to be "s" shaped. I'm not good at all at sculpting atherwise I was going to reproduce it. Ita has got a complicated thermal "shirt" around it and cannot be reproduced with tubing easily. Quite likely I'll try to warm it up and carefully have a look if it's possible to starigthen it
2) the part which connects to the mantlet is wrong and the diameter is not the one of the ones in which the standard tubing comes. I think i can fix it with a copule of layers of very thin plastic sheet (or acetate)
3) solved: it was too short but, as sometimes happens to me, I measured it roughly a million times but every time I came out with different result. A good sleep solved the problem; I took two times after resting my measures and they matched, I tried to do it a third time and it matched again so I found where it was short and I fixed it with a metallic ring and quite a bit of putty.
Hope to be able to fix it tonite...
Thanks anyway for your help
Fabio

Tamiya M48A3 mostly OOB, ready for the spray booth. A few minor mods added with champagne bottle foil and styrene for searchlight and commanders cupola covers. Have lots of hand rolled and resin stowage ready for this one ala Vietnam.
Now that I got the hang of posting, more pics soon! (Only took two hours of trial and error)

Hey Jeff, I can't see it
You should try posting you pictures at the gallery on MSN. I know for a fact that Yahoo and Geocities doesn't allow picture hosting like the Armorama MSN gallery does.
