Reading the rules as stated by Rob, I see that the start date for the armor campaign is april the 13th.
In France it is now 2 o'clock, april the 13th, so the campaign has now started !

Comrades, orders have been received from the Defense Minister of the Soviet Union to start production of a mobile SAM based on the BRDM to provide air cover for our tank forces against the nekulturny NATO aircraft. :-) #:-)

:-) Oh goody,goody!
This means I can "bust plastic" now.
I will be building another M-60A2,just like the one I was a gunner on in 1976-1978!
I will sacrifice a tamiya M-48 for the searchlight, and maybe the rear deck.it has correct contours(rounded) where the intake from the aircleaner is.Also, the fire extinguisher handlle box,is better than the one in the M-60A2 kit.
The tweaks I will work on first, adding 3 lifting lugs to the TC's coupola.
Putting in 3 cleanout ovals in the sprockets.
Drilling holes in the mounts for the Conduct Of Fire Trainer mounts on the turret roof, and TC's couploa.

I think it's ok to sign up here too... when a proper campaign record will be set up in the campaign section we all will re-subscribe there. For the time being I think you can post here the model you've picked up in service between 1946 and 1991.
Anyway have a look to these threads too:

My M981 FISTV is here and in it's boxes. Would a this vehicle (in US service) use the M113A1G tracks put out by AFV Club or are those limited to German vehicles? Also, are we limited to one entry or not? I also have an MLRS I've been itching to build.

I don't think there is any limitation about the number of models. I'd love to build a couple but I'm not sure to have time to. For the tracks the AFV are only for German versions of M113. If you like there's the Friulmodellismo metal tracks set that are ok for the us version as well...

Thanks Fabio. That's what I thought, but I wasn't sure if it was German vehicles only or if it also covered US vehicles stationed in Germany. Looks like I'm going to be picking up the Fruil tracks.

The Campaign is from the period of Sept. '45, to Dec. '90, hence the name The Cold War Cook Off....so any armored vehicle from any conflict or from any part of the world that falls into this scope is acceptable.....I beleieve the moderators of the campaign have made an exception or two....but other than that...its a very wide range....and yes...multiple kits are allowed....SO GO......BUILD......BE HAPPY!!!!!!! But remember.....its all for FUN!!!!!

Heavy Artillery onthe way, sir. Expect a M110A2 in Nato 3 tone scheme for the 1/125 FA soon.
(I have a nice 3rd cav, 3rd AD M901 from DS1, including dismounted Driver, soon to be complete, but not for this competition.)

Here begins "Chaos" ,an M-60A2.
I was assigned to this vehicle when my company (Co.C,1/37th armor) traded in our M-60's and M-60A1's.
The construction starts as follows:
I started with the coupola,It needed 3 lifting eyes added to the edge,120 degrees apart.
An d to be ready for later,I painted behind the TC's sight, before installing it.
The parts of the coupola are shown here.
And I recieved some help from C-70,our companie's M-88.
Hope we get a campaign site soon.

Wrong. The Canadian's use the Diehl tracks on our M113's. I know 'cause I've had to build enough of the friggin' real ones. The model tracks are easier 'cause you don't have to torque them #:-) #:-) #:-)

Hi all!!!
My B1 Centauro has arrived this morning. Now my question is: are we going to have a proper Campaign set up (like Operation Barbarossa and the others in the "Campaigns" section)? If not how do we do with the posts?

Oh, I forgot to tell you, that I´m also in.
Tamiya T- 55...
Still not sure about the variant (Russian, Czech, Polish)
I don´t know, if I want to scratch build a new engine deck, or a "thing" that I have never seen before, where I have only a bad picture from (T- 55 thread).
Violetrock- His ID card calls him Thomas...

I am going to do a bit more work tonight. I have shaved off the fireextinguisher "block" on the top glasis slope on the A2.I will put the M-48 box here.
ALSO...remove the fuel filler cap on the left side of the hull, near the turret ring.Diesels only had one on the right side.
On my tank,we did not have those tie down things on the rear fenders.I shaved them off.
Also,I plan on drilling the lightening holes on the various fender support braces.
And I have grooved in between the center driver's periscope, and the 2 on either side, this is a rain water run off channel.
Later,I will close the center periscope hatch, and use parts from the M-48,to "open" the periscope covers on either side.We ran this way,so the driver could see the ground guide easier while maneuvering in the motor pool.
And I drilled out the crew heater exhaust pipe. This did have a plastic cap that fit into it,and was rapidly lost in the "bush".
I will add pictures to this post,so you can see what I am typing about, but fisrt I got to do the cutting.

I have decided to build an Israeli Jeep with three figures in a small vignette. This is due to time constraints, but will also try to do my M60 if able.
I have some photos of the start of my build. I have built the suspension and have started fitting the figures. I will try to load it up with gear, etc. when completed. I have never built a small vehicle before, so this is a good exercise. Also, doing three full figures will be a nice challenge.
To be honest, I needed a change of pace from the heavy armor.
Beware (Shiron! :-) ) that this may not be the most accurate model ever built as it is based on the Academy 'Shmira' kit. I have heard that M151A1's were used, but not many. I have also heard that the rear gun mount needs to be moved back, etc. If anyone has any additional info, I'd love to get it.
I'm trying to depict a scene from the early 80's. I already have the base and groundwork completed and am quite proud of it!
So, I am looking for wheels for an M151. If anyone has five, please let me know. (Not the vinyl ones though!)
Violetrock - what do you mean by "thing" and what picture are you talking about? Can you be more specific?

Well Heck - since the rest of you guys jumped out of the gate and didn't wait for the Campaign Folder - here's my start too!
This the Skybow M41A3 Walker BullDog - sadly if rumors of Skybow molds being purchased by AFV Club is true - a now rare model indeed. I started the model at the beginning of this year - but put it up on the shelf to take care of more pressing projects. Since April 14th, I've pulled it back down for the Campaign and have been working to finish it. These are photos of the basic construction. Last night and the night before I only have been adding small details like bolts and such before painting. I applied the first airbrush coat last night. By the weekend, I'll have this one marked and Dull Coted for final weathering. Perhaps by the end of the month - I'll have one Campaign Project in the kettle done.
I can't speak highly enough of Skybow's rendition of the Walker BullDog. A fine model this is!

and the finished mantlet with the new lids...
