Thanks again. Please, be patient for next pics.

FANTASTIC work. This model turned out really nice! I'll look forward to seeing more excellent work from you this year.....

Very inspiring..... makes me want to finish up my Iraqi T72 Ural and my T72M1 and then buy some Miniarm stuff!

Do you put the small dots of paint on just the vertical panels or also on the horizontal panels? Do you use the same colors for all types of vehicles, or do you vary them according to the base color? I was thinking of this technique for a Pak 40 I am currently working on, so I was glad to see you using it here. Your T72BM looks great, I built one myself but without the slat armor. Your weathering is subtle yet very dramatic at the same time.

Thank you guys. Dear Andreas, I asked for cons, right here on Armorama, and finally I decided to use Tamiya XF13 J.A. Green as a base, then lightened with XF67 NATO Green plus XF4 Yellow Green (adding a bit Yellow Green for each airspraing passage: 3 passages for lightening in all).
Tim you can see those spots in only one pic, but they are on the whole tank. It was just to semplify posting pics.
Yes I normally use different oil colours according to the base colour. You can see on the pic above what colours I used. I'd not use green for example on a sand colour base. My aim is to gently fade the original colour, not to contrast it, not in this step at least.
I hope to help you.
Thanks again. Cheers.

No words, just emotions. I kind of acted like Quagmire from Family Guy when I saw your work. This looks great, but I'm not sure about such an extensive chipping. I've been using same filtering, but not with oil paints. How long did they take to dry? Anyway, can't wait to see your model finished, keep up the good work and happy holidays!

HI

Really nice work so far. You are doing straight green than the green/sand/black? Oil/fuel stains still to come?

I like it !

Dear George I don't know how it really appear to you in the pics, but there aren't too many scratches as it may seem ( I made worse sometimes in the past ) I oversprayed my light mix right to avoid too much contrast and I feel it good (I hope at least). In the past I was used to do filters with enamels, but I find I have an extended time to work with oils and you can shade them better then enamels. Forgot 2-3 days to dry with them.
One thing more George. Can you help me to translate your - I kind of acted like Quagmire from Family Guy - I'd like to understand it.
Tom the turret is near to be finished, not the hull so ,sorry, you have to wait a little more.
The best 2008 to you and your families.

Hehe, sorry to confuse you. I'll write you a PM. Well, if you feel like wear like this is appropriate it's quite alright. However, when I saw bare metal on gunner's hatch and roof of the turret I could not have it ignored. That neutron shield is made of plastic and when it wears off it tends to be light yellow green, but hey, you're the master. Did you choose what marking you're going to use? I got lucky with my last build, some WP tanks had no marking at all. Someone out there misses a lot of money by not publishing a good decal sheet for late/post cold war eastern armor

Just five new pics of the turret: it's close to be finished. I added lining with oils (raw umber), scratches here and there and pigments. I only need a few details: a good painting on barrel mantlet and windshield.

Hi guys, here I'm again with my T72. I've worked on it to give a general look of wear, made of scraping and scratches. If you have patience enough to look at my pics, I'd like to know your impressions. Thank you.
Cheers.

First oil

then acrilic

Hallo friends to all of you. My T72 goes on very slowly, however here it is. I added a new photographic step by step and I'll try to explain something to you.
I started to add a thick layer of dust to the wheels:

the final result

here with a Humbrol 92 drybrush on the black tire

Here a new light step with oils filter

the faded yellowish appearence where X is

I decided to add rust to the slats, to make them stand out and to add colours to the monotone green of the model. Made this with oil and powder from the MIG range and then adding a very diluited layer of acrilic brown to obtain a burnt appearance

Rust stains (with much ocre tone)

A very light final layer of 50/50 satin-flat with acrilic transparent

Here I added oil stains with black and linum oil , that gives a grease appearance

A steel appearance on edges, hooks and handles made with a pencil

The turret almost finished. I added a few accessories: globalization means Playboy in Chechnya too :-)

And here two figures from Warriors and Hornet range that will be with the finished model

Thank you for your time. Feel free to make your own comments.
Cheers and to the next.

Guido

I believe that in Webster's Dictionary, the the word "Patience" should be defined as "a work of art produced by Guido". Your attention to detail is fantastic, your ability to weather a kit is equally fantastic. My tiniest of critique is that the commanders periscopes inside his hatch opening should not be painted over white. Very well done

I'm so proud to read your answer, thanks. I like it.
About the periscopes as soon as possible I'll post new pics with black rubber details added and to the visors too: I already painted those items. That is a previous pic.
Thank you Tim.
