Hi guys,
I plan on doing a diorama set in Ardennes 1944 with a Kingtiger. I also plan on adding these figures:
On the boxart it looks like the color of the uniforms are mostly green but when I look at the back there are numbers of Gunze colors and the trenchcoats are in Field Grey. Which color is it now? Sorry I don't know much about German uniforms.
Thanks in advance,
Daniel

One of the numerous shades of Feldgrau depending on the source of the cloth and how much it was adulterated with synthetic or vegetable fibres.

Daniel,
I've replied on your other thread, but thought I'd copy it here too: -
Speaking only from my experience of painting Tamiya German uniform camo, pretty much every regular infantryman I've painted has been listed on Tamiya charts as XF65 - Field Gray, which is in fact a greenish colour. Based on this, the listing on your box seems to be correct.
I have, however, no experience with Gunze colours.
Hope this helps.

Thanks guys for your replies.
I just noticed though that the Kingtiger I have is the one with the markings for the Hungary 1945. Would these figures fit with it or not? Should I get the other set from Dragon the Panzergrenadiers Wiking Division?
Thanks in advance,
Daniel

Uniforms and color guides... ahhh. I suppose all that I can tell you is how I approach uniforms. I've tried the color guides and found them to be hit and miss for me, instead I prefer to make my own match using whatever reference material I can find. Believe it or not it is out there, from reenactor sites to color photos of actual uniforms. I match the base cote to an acrylic and tint with oil washes. In fact the first two figures on the box I have in my completed figure photos. If you want more detail on what I used to paint them just let me know.

Typically, it is best to have minor variations in color if you have numerous like uniforms in one diorama. Sun fading, differnt uniform sources, uniform age, wear, tear, field conditions...
Besides,if you have 10 different shades, one of them is bound to be correct.
