Not bad, but maybe you should put more "dirt" on the tracks and wheels.
And its true that the light is'nt enough, I can hardly see anything, especially on the front side of the tank;)

Eduard's PE uses very thin brass stock to start with and it is double etched, so it's thin as foil. The half circular supports must be bent 90 degrees to support the mesh. You have to very carefully cut the parts free of the fret and laminate a couple of layers and bend and laminate the mesh. The final assembly is surprisingly sturdy, but the individual layers will distort if you look at them cross-eyed, so be very careful with them. If the parts are pulled out of shape, the layers will not line up. The transverse supports are there, but the longitudinal bar that supports the center of the mesh (seen on most but not all vehicles) is not provided. You can add it from sections of .010" styrene strip, if you wish.
Aber's photoetch includes the longitudinal bar and is made from heavier brass, so it's not as fragile during assembly. You also have the option of depicting the early version of the screens, which did not flatten out at the front (seen on very early KV-1 and KV-2 types).

hi
i found the edward mesh easy to build. as it is very fine, i simply pressed the mesh over the plastic molded grills, rubbing it with my finger, befor i cut out the plastic grill.
also the edwaed grills are coloured like steel, i like this because u can just scratch the paint to see bare metal, aber are good sets but are brass in colour.

I like this Neil, I'd recommend a few more washes to dull down the graphite...

I have a friend in England who is building this very same kit as a commission. Do you have any tips on the build that I may pass on or is it a straight forward build?
Thanks in advance

thanks for all the replys. i found it an easy build. straight out of the box. no real probs.
there is a fair amount of dust/mud in it. i used mostly mig's russian earth, it doesnt show very well in the photos cuz the light isnt very good. still learning with the photography.
cheers neil
