Hi All,
I originally posted a similar thread earlier this week under 'No Group Association'. But I thought I'd try here.
I'm looking for info on the SAS Unimog 'Mothership' vehicles, I've had very limited success on finding pics.
I have the Revell 1/35 Moggie and a picture of someone's model Moggie built up armed with a .50 and 2x7.62mg's.
Thanks in Advance for any help

You're right. There isn't much info around.
This is the only pic I could find

Thanks for the pic Hisham, but that's not the type I'm looking for.
It was more a cut down version. No doors, cab roof or windscreen and with roll bars added and lots of stowage etc.
I do have a pic of the left hand side of one I found somewhere (don't know who took it - or built the model) but it's that version I want to try. Sort of like Seb's US offering last year.

I think I sent you some images before on this topic or was it another, I must be getting old.

Hi there

Is that a weapons mount on the Bedford MK? What would be the weapon fitted? GPMG? .50 callibre? Was looking for Bedford pics. That is one nice looking workhorse. There are some really good pics of the Landies as well as that unusual Unimog.

Great find

You're looking for the older style Unimog.. like this resin kit by Perfect Scale.
Isn't the Revcell kit a different version?

Bill,
you did indeed send me some info on the Moggie, including a link and some of the pics posted above, and thank you for you efforts.
As Hisham pointed out the Moggie I'm looking for is a later model. Revell kit no. 03082 Unimog U1300L.
It's possible that the trucks were just chopped around in the field to best fulfil their role wherever they were needed and I'm wasting my time trying to find an 'accurate' representation! Still, I try to do what I can in the name of accuracy.
I'll keep looking.

Im 100% sure that Aussie SASR still use these Mogs. And they are not a cut and shut in the field they are a manufactured varient. Ive searched and i cant find any pics for you.

Mike all the pictures I posted were from Image Shack. Here is the link to one of the images I bookmarked perhaps you can backtrack to find the rest, I couldn't.

I have the same Revell Unimog you do, all stripped down converted to a "what if" SAS resupply vehicle. It looks the same as these mogs in the photos but clearly is a newer model. What's to say they aren't out there now doing what they do? I put the project on hold when the wheels I bought from Accurate Armour didn't exactly fit properly and I couldn't at the time resolve the issue...but I will, one day.
Good luck on your project and keep us posted.

Ok ive been searching and i cant find any pics. Ive got it in a magazine somewhere... ill try to find it and scan it. Its a modern mog (not sure of the exact details) in Iraq in 2003 with the cabin cut down and a similar stowage setup as an SASR LRPV. It has an FN MAG mounted in the passenger seat, an 12.7 or MK19 on a ring mount and another FN MAG facing rearward.

My next project was going to be a armoured Mog similar to the one in Hisham's Pic to go with my current WIP ASLAV.... But all this searching has made me decide on this one now.

It will be an awesome build!!!!
