Hello guys,
I just started a new little project for my finished Maus tank. This house I am building is mostly made out of balsa and plastic card.
Good reference pics are necessary, this is one of my collection :
The presentation is already assembled, and the back of the house is glued in place, waiting to be completed :
The green part is a piece of plastic card, covered with Milliput Standard (stone brick structure added with tooth pic).
Update follows soon ! G.

Nice job so far, great angle on the road. What did you do to make the texture on the face of the building?

Scot, I added Milliput Standard, very thin onto the plastic card, to avoid sticking on the table surface while sculpting. I hope my explanation is clear enough ?

The roof is finished now, I brushed on pastel powders (greens) to make the mosses more natural.

Guy my friend, you have got another treasure on the way here!
As Mike already stated I too like the angle created. The way the building appears to 'reach out' over the tank... You make me want to get back into building construction!
Good stuff

Mike, this was the first time I didn't build the complete house, I thought it would be quite difficult, but it wasn't that hard to make the angle. Thank you.
Bradley, it's not finished yet, I hope it will work out well. It's a compliment to hear I inspire people ! Thank you.
Jafo, thank you.

I just love the detail on both the tank and the house,,,,,,,,,,,,, especially the way the angle has been formed to take the squareness off the scene.
JMHO but the base seams to be totally dwarfed by the tank and seems to spoil the proportions a little. Would it not be better to scale up the base a good bit more, even if it does mean adding a little detail of the other side of the road.
The tank just looks a little shoe-horned into the base that maybe a smaller truck, tank or cars would be well contained within to allow the wall details to be seen to their best.
JMO but fantastic work!!!!!!!!!!!

Great building, love the scene. Looks like another On Display feature to me (hint hint).
My one critique is to watch the position of the AFV, the angle needs to be 'right'. In the first early photo the right turning angle does not look right. The right angle and the left turn of the barrel does not look natural to me.

Thank you for your replies friends,
I'm still building up the whole scene, and the Maus is just placed in the scene for the idea.
I'll keep an eye on the angle Maus-house (oh yeah !) too. Tonight I will continue building on it, thank you again for the opinions, I learn a lot from it ! G.

Hi friends,
I added a typical German style wall, black wood and white filling.
Next thing to do is the door.
Jooooooooooooooo !

Pastel powders were used to make the exaust pipes look rusty, but first I painted on a thin layer of oil paint, burnt sienna. G.

Another small update, just one pic.
I have added a small wooden balsa frame around the base, now the Maus will have a bit more space, but it stays out of proportion, after all it was a BIG tank. G.

Guy, beautiful small scale work. Wouldn't know it unless you told someone it's wee scale.
You still amaze me with your talents in this scale, armor, structures, groundwork, all very sweet. I need the Hubel telescpoe to work on 1/35th stuff !!!!

Untill now, I think about 25 days (one, two hours a day or so ?). The Maus about one month to finish it completely. Now the figures and the last small detailing are next to do. Thanks for your reply. G.
