Tamiya have released the Japanese 4x4 light vehicle "Kurogane," as kit TAM32558 in their 1/48 Military series.

Can already see a dio of a captured one being used in an island setting on an USAAF air base like Iwo or some other small island.

I'd definitely buy one in 1/35, but as I'm not a real fan of 1/48 I'll be passing on this. And the figures don't look especially good.
It's a very interesting and unusual subject though - I'd never even heard of this vehicle before.
I don't need you - sixty feet of bridge I can pick up almost anywhere.

I've wanted a plastic one since I saw an article in Military Modelling in 1974/75, and I hope they do a scaled-up one as well.
Hasegawa are also about to release a 1/48 Kurogane, together with a lorry based on the Isuzu fuel tanker they already market.
