What was the color of green the Russian's painted the T34's? It looks like a Dark Green to me,but it kind of looks to have a blue hue'ish look to it. Thanks

Well, you can pretty much take your pick. Everyone has thier favorite green to represent 4BO, which was the nomenclature for the original color. I like Tamiya XF-5 Flat Green, or Model Master Acryl Russian Armor Green. These are like a dark grass green, and I once saw a whole shed of T-34's painted this exact color, so it's my paint of choice. Others like a darker green, while still others go for a dark olive. All look "very Russian" if done correctly.

well, i used Gunze 136, Russian Green for late ww2.
Kinda dark after the first green goes on top.
Highlighting it with a warm color will help, i use Gunze 45, Sail Color.
Add a FEW DROPS of the sail to the green to slowly build up a nice color for the green.

None of the hobby stores here carry Gunze products. So I mixed up some MM Dark Green with a hair of flatwhite and touch of gray and it looks pretty darn close. I have heard of the color in MM Russian Green..however again the stores here carry about every color but that one or....Schokade Braun, Oliv Grun or Dunkelgelb in MM.So I usually go for the Tamiya Colors..which seem to be running scarce in the shops around here.

There actually was a color standard for Russian 4BO Protective Green. Current historians in Russia have leaned toward FS 34102 as a pretty good match for the official color cards (it's widely available as a USAF Cammo color in most paint lines). I personally like Humbrol's though I think Model Master's is a bit too light and bright, closer to FS 34079.
As said, there would have been a lot of variation given the extreme conditions during the war. However, avoid the garish grass greens popular on some recent models--concensus is that the greens were rather dark and muted. Of course, most tanks in the field are just not clean enough for the original shade to be visible, so you can just start with a color close to where you want to end up (the Verlinden strategy--he never bothered to paint Olive Drab vehicles Olive Drab--he'd use any old subdued green, because he was going to weather the heck out of them, anyway).
