With the advent of Tamiya's new kit, I'm interested in possibly building a model of a Czech T-55A(M) with cheek turret armor, sideskirts, and the KLADIVO Fire Control System. My only source is an old Berlin Brigade pamphlet on Sov armor, which I picked up while I was stationed at Tempelhof in the '80's. Would share info I have for info you have. Please contact me off-forum at [email protected] or [email protected] TIA, Rob Owens

There was an article a little while back in MiliMod that might be helpful to you.

Esci did one of their T-55 variant boxings as a T-55A(M), but I do not know if it was accurate though.

The Panzershop makes a conversion kit for the Tamiya T-55 to build this particular version. From what I have seen and heard it is nice. There is a pic of it built and painted at Missionmodels.com on the front page. It may seem a little pricey at $80.00 but my understanding is that this includes the Tamiya kit, and a set of Friul tracks.

You're right Scott, my mistake, it doesn't include the T-55 kit. I went back and looked at the site this morning and I was looking at the conversion set below this one. (that and it was getting late) Looking at the pics of the unpainted kit it does look nice though.

Hi,
I bought Kladivo conversion few weeks ago. At the moment I'm weathering this beauty.
This is really nice conversion. But for sure you will have small problems with: engine covers, front armour plate, laser range finder and side skirts. But still my overall opinion about this conversion set is very high.

Thanks, All, for your help. Now, instead of facing a mountain of scratchbuilding, I'll just have to find something to hock! (Spouse is in Grad School) Regards, Rob
