i can't find what is the problem with that- You have to glue single tracks over drive sprocket and then put further all threads.
take a look on pictures in this article:

Here is a good link for some SA-4 photos, especially if you want to try to build yours in firing mode: SA-4 shots

Hi,

Few days ago I received my own Tankmania's SA-4. My model is from 2nd "production" batch- quality of details is very crisp and without bubbles.
Checking all parts I found an idea of replacing kit's tracks with link- by- link version. Do you know if any aftermarket company produces them?

Thanks in advance,

Michal

No indi tracks available. SFAIK these are the first set of 1/35 tracks for this chassis type.

Good morning all
I just bought my second SA-4 and wold like to convert it into launch mode, from some pictures I have seen the transport bracket drops down in the front and another cylender raises the missles.now I see that the missles are offset to launch, one higher than the otherso they will clear, the engine covers painted red , do they blow off durning fireing or are they removed before hand, also I bought a P40 long track were the units connected with cable or was everything wireless, this question goes with the SA-6 also. if any one could point to some pictures that would be great, and last question, what was used to reload the missles once shot a seperate truck and seperate crane. I have a wonderful idea for a diarama, but still in the planning phase thats why all the questions
thanks

Here is a video that may help

It appears that the covers stay on and are thrown off or consumed at launch.

The Pat Hand radar is relatively close by as the main search/aquisistion radar. This is being worked on by Pawel as a kit for the future, last I heard. This could be phsyically attached to the launchers by cabelling, I do not know.

The Long Track P-40 would not necessarily be close by and I would assume that radio signals would be the main communications, or the P-40 would be "wired" to Air Defense Fire Direction Vehicle, like the 9S737 Rhanzir MT-LBu.

Reloads were carried singly by Ural-4320 6 wheeled trucks.

Thanks for the replys, I cant wait for the pat hand radar. The P40 just look to be such a challagen, I picked up a 5 star r/11 ss-1b-a and a 2s6m "tunguska" also the Tunguska is a huge wepon patform I was surprised so I have my work cut out for me of forgot got another Sa-4 to do in launch mode.
thanks

The SA-6 used a small RF transciever on the left front of the radar and the TELs. There was also the capability of using 2 wires to go from the radar right side 3rd hatch to the launchers to communicate under radio silence. I did not see anywhere where the radar data could be sent via FM with the P-123 radio sets.

The P40 used a 2 thick multistrand cables to send and recieve data between it and the P19 Thin Skin. I did not work all too much with this system, but there is a more comprehensive suite of radios in the system.

One problem this model.
This 3M8 rocket Nuclear warhead, Sovietunion duty only.
The scool rocket paint matt greyish-silver (special paint) and white, original rocket polished aluminium, and titanium the rocket rear.

Nuclear warhead for AAA use? Never heard of that being in field use. I thought the longer warhead casing was DESIGNED for nuclear use, but subsequently adapted for a larger HE warhead use. Possible?

Thanks for the heads up though...

Nuclear warhead for AAA use?
The SA-5 Gammon ("Vega") also had this type of warheads. I also didn´t thought this.

Both rockets are normal ( no nuclear).
There are two types:
SA-4a - longest
SA-4b - shortest
Differences result from system of directing.
(I do not know if I will write in english well).
SA-4a - broadcasting
SA-4b - semi-active radar.

Andreas - very nice model you have built
