Hi
That's coming along very nicely. The slushy snow looks very good.
The King Tiger looks very good, like the worn & dirty look.
waiting on the figure's to see the finished diorama.

hi daniel, i like your dio alot, i like the white wash and weathering on the KT. the mud and tha traces of the other vehicles driving through is really realistic. the pines looks very well done, what were they made out of? i look foward to seeing it finished.
regards ,calvin ng
Thanks Calvin. The pines were made out of fern and the trunk is balsa. I cut the fern to form and then I added them to the trunk. I got the idea from an article I found online. If you want it, I'll send you it.
Thanks Shaun too for your comment.

Nice work Daniel. You've captured the frozen feel of the scene beautifully, and the muddy lane is excellent.
Looking forward to seeing this with the figures added. Keep us posted.

Great progress. Composition wise is realy good. The gap in between the trees draw the eyes down.
The fallen tree is cool and well done.

Daniel, nice one. The Dio is really taking shape, the muddy tracks look good. How about some smaller tracks between the KT's. Or is it to late? Also like the finnish on the KT, Zim looks good and the white wash is spot on! Hope you nail the figures. I like the placement of them, the guy shouting at the two in front of the Tiger to "move they're butts" nice little story. Looking Good, cheers Geraint

Hi Daniel,
Interesting layout with the Tiger completely on the right. The mud is great also.
I personnally can imagine this dio without figures!
Cheers

I think the snow & mud are great. The trees turned out well too. Maybe the white coat on the tank is a little too uniform?? Perhaps small drybrushing of the original paint coat just a little here and there would give it a little more color interest. Fantastic job and congrats.

Hi Guys,
I want to thank you all for your lovely comments. This motivates me to keep on going so thank you.
@James: Thanks James.
@Lewis: About the tracks, no it's not too late. I'll see what I can do. I've already gotten a comment about how the Kingtiger is riding in the same lane as the previous tank. So yeah I will see what I can do.
@Claude: Wow that's nice to hear from you. I absolutely love your Clervaux castle. I find it amazing that you can undertake such a big project and still deliver such quality. There are a lot of modellers who make huge dioramas but the overall quality is low. This is not the case with you, you make sure everything is perfect and realistic. So hats of to you. Thanks also for your comment.
@Greg: Hi, I would make the suggestion you made if it were a whitewash. But it isn't, I read that the Anneliese actually was used in France during the Normandy Campaign but was damaged and sent back to Germany for repairs where they painted it pure white. Then they sent it back to Hungary. So you wouldn't see the underlying paint as it was painted white in the factory. Not just on the field. Thanks though. I hope to show you pictures of the figures after my exams are done.
Thanks again everyone.
Daniel

My only comment would be to move the soldiers away from in front of the tracks. Unless the tank is not moving. That is not somewhere any savvy soldier would do at such a close distance in my opinion. Drivers can't always see you... especially when someone is sitting on your hatch! With that, now that I think about it, can the driver even see? Other than that. This is a very impressive, well made diorama. Your research into the topic is also quite striking! Keep it coming.

I have been meaning to make a comment on your work for some time Daniel.
This is a really great piece... really interesting to look at. You have created a very realistic snow 'n' mud effect. I can't wait to see the figures added.
Keep it up bro!
Chas

Hi guys,
here I am with another update. Not a very big update, I'm a bit of a slow worker, but here it is. I've basically changed a few things that you guys suggested I should do. I redid the trees because I personally wasn't very pleased with them. So I redid them with moss, got the idea from Martin Schuster's site. They are, in my opinion much more realistic. I also redid the snow, instead of using the mix of Woodland scenics with Future and water. I decided to use water and woodglue. Before this the snow gave a yellowish shine to it since our Future here in Belgium is yellow. So now it's much better. The road I gave another look at too. I received some comments about how the Kingtiger was riding in the exact same tracks as it's predecessor. So I made it more realistic by adding mud to the whole road. Well that's what I did, I know it's not alot but I think it looks better. Next I really need to get going on the figures. Hope you guys like it.
