The Kingtiger is from Dragon. It's this kit plus these are the figures I will be using:
And then one more Dragon set I have of which I don't have a picture.
Thanks for the comments.

Very nice, I am contemplating doing something similar myself for my first Diorama.
Keep sending in the pics.

Daniel,
One suggestion I would make would be to move the Tiger forward up the road so the rear end isn't hanging over the edge of the base. Would really help the composition I think.
Just my .02.
Thanks for sharing,
Shaun

Daniel,
You have done a great job overall. I like the layout, the groundwork, the trees and I think you did a nice job on the zimmerit.
Two observations:
1) The soldier kneeling on the rear deck and the one sitting above the radio operator's position have very long necks. You may want to recess them a bit more into the torsos.
2) The right leg of the soldier sitting above the driver's position appears to be blocking the driver's periscope.
I am looking forward to seeing the completed project.

For a first 1:35 project this is looking excellent! Trees and zimmerit are very nice too.
If I remember correctly from your Bocage diorama, you are about my age, 15-16?
Keep posting!

Great progress with your diorama Daniel. Your KT looks pretty good for your 1st 1/35th scale tank, nicely done. Enjoy painting all of those figures, you've got your hands full with all of those.
Thanks for sharing your work, keep at it! Cheers -
Tim

Daniel,
I agree with what Shaun says about moving the tank slightly further in from the edge of the base. But apart from that, I really, really like the way in which your dio is shaping up.
I like the different levels you've incorporated - and the fallen tree is a nice touch.
The funny thing is that in over 35 years of modelling ever since I was a young kid, I've always wanted to build a "King Tiger in the snow" dio along much the same lines as yours - but so far I have never got round to doing one!!
Please keep us posted on your progress, as I look forward to seeing more.

Hi Daniel,
For your very first 1/35 project you are certainly heading off in the right direction!
I have only built a few German armour subjects, none could shape up next to your Tiger!!
You have probably still got some things left to do for the groundwork, but try to get those tracks tied more into the scene with some slush/mud etc.
How are you finding the shift from 1/48 to 1/35?
Greets,
Shay

Thanks everyone for your comments.
@Shay: Nice to hear from you again. How's everything going? We should get together again once. Your vignette is really nice with the frog. Really you've got the skills for figure painting.
Yeah I'm not done with the groundwork. The road will be covered with snow and mud. It won't stay that way. I'm going to change it but I first wanted to finish the Kingtiger and the figures. So that I could place them then right away in the scene when I'm done with the groundwork.
Thanks again everybody for your comments.

Gday Daniel
Long time no see mate!
I missed this one from its inception.
I like what you have done with the ground work, and the colours you have chosen seem to really work.
One thing to consider in future is the natural lie of the land. What I mean is the embankment for example; it is a little too uniform in its slope? Think of how water would run off the high ground onto the road. It is bound to find the lowest area of the highground and form a water course which would in turn 'eat' into the bank. Maybe one or two places could show this effect, with an indentation where the bank has been eroded?
Other than this, I think the base shows your skills are developing nicely.
Cheers
Brad

Looking good.
Very nice work w/ the pine trees. They are tough to model well and yours look great.
When you redo the ground cover - really sink the tank into the road (that was a HEAVY LOAD).
I lay plastic wrap and then stick the treads into the wet surface (that way you don't get them full of crap).
Keep up the good work.

Hi guys,
I know it's been a while since I've posted here. It's been a bit busy since I'm finishing my last year of high school. But in the last week I've found some time to model. As you will see in the pics, I've basically finished the diorama and the Kingtiger. I've placed and secured the diorama in the diorama. There are a few finishing touches I need to make but it's basically done. All that needs to be done now, is paint the figures which I will take my time with. I've never painted 1/35 figures before so it will be a challenge. This is actually my first project in 1/35. Well here are the pictures. If you have any comments, fire away.

hi daniel, i like your dio alot, i like the white wash and weathering on the KT. the mud and tha traces of the other vehicles driving through is really realistic. the pines looks very well done, what were they made out of? i look foward to seeing it finished.
