Painting/Building first Figs. in 30 yrs., Dragon Winter Combat{Eastern Front 1942/43} . Is it me, or do the helmets fit funny? Seem to sit too High. Has anyone else encountered this? Solution? Any other helmets from the spares box fit better? ALL Replies Welcome, Thanks, J.C.

Hi Jeff,
A lot of figure companies produce heads with the tops flat as a pancakes and helmet fitting can sometimes be a problem.
However, instead of looking through the spares box, use a fine machine such as a dremel " and simply grind an area of the inside of the helmet away.
This will leave the helmet sitting more naturally and snug with no annoying gaps to be seen.
Hope this helps you out mate,
Shay

Ive noticed this with most, if not all of the German figures wearing helmets. Ive just been sanding down the tops of the heads until it looks like the helmet in question is sitting properly.

Thanks Des, I thought about approaching it that way also. I ended up drilling out the helmet. I tried a couple, worked great. Quick also. I used a 3/8 inch drill, and slowly drilled out the excess material. Did some trial fitting, until I got the fit I was looking for. Thanks Again for the Help, I needed it. J.C.
