Hello friends,
This is the fourth figure for my Crossing The Rhine Campaign on Kitmaker Benelux.
The head is Hornet, hands (gloves) and equipment are Warriors and boots Tamya. The figure is a home sculpt (my first, so do not be too hard for me please...)
The paint is still wet, so glossy too...when dry is will have a matt look, much prettier.
I primed it with Mr Surfacer 1000.
Later, the face was painted in dark flesh tones (mix of yellow ocre, burnt sienna, burnt umber, and ultramarin blue, white). A second layer is already painted on, lighter flesh tones, more white added this time.
I always thin down my paint well, I do not like thick paint on a figure.
The painted face is drying now, so I can proceed later to finish it a bit more.
The helmet, clothes and shoes were painted in dark tones. I used ultramarin blue, yellow ocre, burnt sienna, burnt ocre and emerald green in different combinations to obtain many tones.
To finish this first layer, I dab with a soft paint brush in the paint, so a very fine structure appears. The later layers of paint will adhere better.
It's a way to remove the exess of paint too. What rests is a thin base to proceed on when dry.
Tomorrow I'll try to show new pics.
Of course I hope that this will help other modeling friends here !

Hi Guy,
These guy is going to compliment the rest of the figures nicely!
It's great that you are sharing your methods with oil painting, and i'm sure someone will benefit from what you have to share.
Hopefully we'll see an update of this fella soon!
cheers,
Shay

Guy,
Thats a great looking figure you have there. I suppose to a certain degree, when a person is a 'black belt' at sculpting there is no limit to the amount of poses that can be attained and you wouldn't have to wait for a manufacturer to get the poses you want.
