Hello guys,

These two tank hunters (Dragon) are finished and now I want to make a small vignette for them. I hope you like them so far. The heads are original from the box.

I'm thinking of a round presentation, with grasses, herbs, a tree may be...

Idea's ? Inspire me ! Thanks guys ! G.

Hello Mike,
The camo patterns are not easy to paint. These figures were my first two attempts in camo.
But it was fun and my next German paratrooper figures will be better.
You just have to start somewhere, isn't it ? And paratroopers don't bite, so give it a shot !
Thank you for your reply.

Your figures are absolutely awesome. Can you give a breakdown on the colors of the paint used on the smocks and how did you detail them, with a wash? or another way. Thanks

Frank, thank you for your kind reply !
Fred, I'll help you as good as possible :

Smog one :
- base color : white, yellow ocre, emerald green, ultramarin blue, burnt umber (for the darker areas in the base color add more ultramarin blue and burnt umber, better than just black in my opinion).
- brown camo : white, burnt sienna, burnt umber, a bit of ultramarin blue (softens the brown).
- green camo : white, emerald green, ultramarin blue, a bit of burnt sienna (softens the emerald green color wich is quite bright).

Smog two :
- base color : white, yellow ocre, burnt umber, just a bit of emerald green.
- brown : white, burnt sienna, burnt umber, a tiny bit of ultramarin when darker tone needed.
- green : ultramarin blue, yellow ocre.

It's a matter of good reference pics and a lot of fiddling with a brush in the paint, untill you are satisfied.

I hope this will help a bit ?

Greetz ! G.

Excellent paint work here. I like that you kept the panzerfaust clean, since these were use and dispose weapons. Remember as you pose your guys to keep the potential backblast from the panzerfaust clear.
One thing, looks like you forgot to finish the rifle sling. I don't see it coming around the figure's left side, but it appears to cross his chest.

Guy, these are two very nicely painted figures. The face on the guy with the panzerfaust is particularly good, & just shows what can be achieved with careful painting of a commercial figure - no need for resin heads here!

Hallo Guy,
nice one!! (or two..)

What about a setting behind a piece of hedge and in a ditch?

I really like the splittercamo too! I was struggling to get that done on some pieces of zeltbahn, with very little succes...
Guess I have to try again.... and again.... and again.... and......

Steve : I didn't want to use aftermarket heads because I had to improve my painting skills first. Tx !
Jerry : The rain strecks were painted on with a fine brush. Tx !
AJ : I glued on a sling, but I must have been asleep ! I will change it, very good remark and tx for that !
Alexey : I wanted to paint it as good as I could. Good reference pics did the work ! Tx.
Steve : these heads were quite good and detailed, and more, they had expression ! But now I will buy aftermarket heads. Tx.
Ron : I'm currently working on a small vignette with bushes and weeds, tx for thinking and sharing your ideas !
