For the title, why not escape of the balds ?

That would be "Balderdash" then

sorry couldn't help it

Alan

p.s. How about "Rushin' Away" as in Russian Away.

Thirteen inlaws coming over ? ........... If I were you I'd be bugging out with the rest of the Germans.

Well she has to put up with my family all the time so a short visit by thirteen Finns is ok...besides they bring cinnamon buns

Ola Pat

This is really coming together as a stunner. I really love the action together with the ruins. Great work... I have a suggestion for the title but it will never get past the autocensor... therefor I will do it in German

Scheizescheizescheizescheize!!!! It sounds better in English though.

With friendly greetz

I like your title "Exit Stage Left", by canadian trio Rush, one of the greatest live albums ever recorded.

• comrade! see that some harms come to them

• The longest way around is the shortest way home

• Once bitten, twice shy

Hi Pat,

Loving the rubble and damage. Picking up lots of tips just from seeing the fantastic pictures.

I find that debates on naming dioramas can often be hilarious on this site. Some of suggestions in this post don't reflect the diorama at all, or at least I can't figure out the hidden meaning. Here is my proposition:

"A Piece of Stale Bread Looking at the Moon"

Like it?

Chas you're obviously from the Salvador Dali School of Titling .

Exit, pursued by a bear

is a strange stage direction from Shakespeare's "The Winter's Tale" as there is no other mention of a bear in the play. And :

Exit stage left

was the favorite saying of cartoon lion Snagglepuss when he was running away. The soviet Union was sometimes depicted as a bear in political cartoons so that's where I got Exit Stage Left pursued by a bear

I really like what you are doing, even if its a quite large structure compared with the number of figures, the figures really draws attention and you have manage to create a very dynamic scene that convincingly convays the impression of haste and nearpanic.

The base is shaping up nicely, I like your choice of colours but i would suggest that you consider using different colours on the foundation on the buildings and do someting to lower the intensity of the wallpaper - it kinda springs to attention and distracts the focus from the figures - maybe some debris and wooden beams in the corner ?

Again - as stated befor - this is a killer!

Tittle - I like Monty Python - how about: "run away, run away" ...

Well from the uniforms it's post 1942 but I haven't decided on a location except that it is on the Eastern Front.

First time poster here...your diorama is moving. I can almost feel the terror and panic of the men in the scene. You've chosen figures that represent a range of fear and resolve. Even among the retreating figures some seem more paniced than others. And the absence of a visible enemy allows the viewer to be engaged in the scene by creating the backstory in his/her imagination. Just like many have done on this thread. Wow! Amazing work!

Regarding the composition of the ruin. Did you have a particular architectural structure in mind as you planned it out? Some dioramas that include ruins just seem like staged random rubble. But it looks like you've created the structure in your mind and destroyed it in your mind then duplicated the result.

Thank you for your inspiring work.

Fantastic so far! As a few have stated it's a relief to see a ruin with enough rubble to be believeable. I don't expect you to change your plans but my suggestion for a title would be
"Desperation", as the expressions and movement convey this very well. This may have been said earlier.
Great composition, lots of action without gratuitous gore. Simple in idea but complex in execution. I love that the enemy is unseen. Can't wait to see it done!

looks great. Something must have REALLY spooked these guys, or, their stomaches have finally had it with the wartime food and are running for the nearest....well, you get the idea.

I've been toying with this idea for a long time and it was the release of the masterbox figures that was the catalyst to actually start. I played around a lot with different bases useing different sizes of polystyrene foam block to get the elevation right. I also did some sketches so I do have an idea of the way the building would be if it wasn't destroyed.
