More advances in my dio. The figures of nva soldiers are almost finished ... you can see the new hut and the farmer cow, and a general view of the dio. Now it´s time for the vietnamese farmers and the us army oh-6 helicopter ...

Coments welcome.

Best regards.

This is the basis for a great diorama. The house is great. The spacing is good, there is a lot of space, in this project I think it works fine. Rice patties have a ton of open space, so fill it with rice weeds and water and it will be really cool.

How do you plan on inclusing the helo?

Your figure painting is super.
I also like the house. Very detailed. Do you have WIP photos of it?

Outstanding! the camouflage leaves are carrot (zanahoria) green if I´m not mistaken, but whatever it is how did you treat it to prevent fading & wrinkling (descoloración & arrugamiento)? I think I will have to paint mine all over again because the faded look of your figures are a sharp contrast to the ones I did with too much colour. I can´t wait to see how it is all finished & it would be nice if I didn´t have to buy a model magazine here just to see it because to be honest it is better than most of the work that I´ve seen in such magazines.

Terrific work, great dynamism in the figures and as Scott says great spacing. The camouflage leaves work really well.

Santiago,

Another great Vietnam diorama in the making there Santiago. I was going through you photobucket pictures and every diorama you've done looks superb! You are definitely one of the big players when it comes to jungle scenery.

Awesome work, I've followed this thread for a long time, and finally an update!
Where did you get the OH-6 in 1/35? What company makes it?
Thanks,

Marek

Very very good.
Is the OH-6 an Italeri kit? I know they make a few 1/35 choppers.
I wish my figures were even in the same league
Your two kneeling AA gunners. There seems to be something wrapped around their wrists (both wrists of the gunner).
Are they supposed to have watches or are they kit bashed from figures with watches?
Looking forward to more pics

Hello Scott. Yes the rice paddy will be full of rice weeds and water, and scared ducks too

The helo will be "hanging" over one of the 6-7 coconut palm trees I´m making right now ...

Best regards.

Hello, the cammo leaves are natural plants I took from a public garden near my working center ... they looks like parrot green, but parrot leaves are much more biggers ...

I just leave the plants drying about 24 hours inside a book or notebook, and paint them with acrilic paint, when dry I give them satin acrilic varnish ... and it works ... My advice is just testing with diferent types of plants.

About th faded look of my figures, the trick is a wash of burn humber acrilic paint (95% water 5% paint) all over the uniform...so the uniform takes a very realistic look.

Thank you

Thank you Marek. The OH-6 is from Dragon DML, and Italeri packed some years ago the same kit fronm Dragon with the italian label. I think both kits are out of production right now, sorry.

Thank you, and about the figures are all of them from the Dragon DML "North Vietnam Army Sappers", with bush hats and rpg grenades runsack from "Vietcong" kit from the same company. Some arms and equipment are from the scrap box...

Thank you Tom. The Dragon kit "North Vietnam Sappers" have no watches, so the one of the gunner is made of plasticard, and the one of the loader belongs to the arm of a Tamiya M-1 Abrams tank figure I had in my scrap box. Really I must admit that making watches and so is a good trick for hiding joints arm-hand

Its really amazing how you have used these figures in youre scene. Do they all have modifications done to them. Were did you get the material for the sides of the hooch looks great. Cant wait to see it all come together. Oh were did you get the water buffalo that to is a nice touch. What happened to the dio you were working on with the soldiers scaleing a cliff sneaking up on some VC did you finish it or is it still in progress just wondering it looked really cool.
