this is my first soldier i have finished (and didnt accidentally destroy)
its from dragon's 10th anniversary german sniper kit (kit #6177)
the sniper rifle is a 98k taken from a gen 2 kit, with the scope from the 6177 german sniper kit. The figure is painted using vallejo paint only
i detailed the face, but you cant really see it in any of the pictures due to the rifle
here are the pictures, i hope you like it

The pics are overexposed, so it's hard to make out details. Isn't he wearing a belt over his coat? If so, it should be black with a dark steel buckle. Any other comments would be questoionable without a better exposure. If possible, don;t use the flash, or if you must, get further back and use you zoom lens to "get closer."

Should his uniform not be a camo smock, it looks like the cuffs are depicted as elasticated?
Also the boots are short versions with gaiters and the gaiters would not be black.

his uniform according to the box should be camo, tan, with the spots. i wanted one with the standard "green" uniform though, so i painted it that way. with so few sniper kits available, i wanted to make sure i made it how i wanted to. i know it is not historically accurate, but for me, thats ok.
i will have to take pictures without the flash because you cant see any of the shading with the folds and such

Mike: I think it's a pretty good first figure. Keep up the good work, and remember if your not happy with it it's not worth doing. Good luck with your next one

Hi
If you wanted to do him wearing the standard field grey uniform and you've taken the rifle from another set I'd suggest just using a suitable figure dressed in the correct uniform for field grey, in a position you want and add the gun to that rather than seek out a "sniper set" which as you've painted it doesn't really apply.
That way you've got loads more sets to choose from.
You simply don't need a specific "snipers set " if you intend finishing the way you have, only the weapon implies he's a sniper.

I'm fairly sure there were examples of the smock in field grey. You just need to sort out the boots and belt. Also a sling for the rifle.

Hi David
Have you got anything you could post to confirm this as I've never seen it myself.
Sure the winter padded parkas etc in reversible white and grey etc. but never a elasticated cuff over smock such as depicted with this figure.
Be interested to see as my eyes go a bit crazy when trying to do the complex patterns on 1/35th and an option to finish it in grey would be good.
