Now we have a (can't believe I'm typing this) a plastic B4 on the way, are there any decent reference works on Red Army artillery of the Great Patriotic War?

Nope, I can't belive it's on its way either. What I'm going to do, is suggest to Jochen at Tankograd, to consider doing a 'special'. Off the top of my head, I can't think of much on Soviet artilllery either.
There must be - somewhere? Anywhere?

2. Wydawnictwo? - Artillery Tractors of the Red Army
3. WW2 Fact Files - Light and medium field artillery WWII
4. Wydawnicwo #118 152mm Howitzer m1937
5. and the book below (see cover) that I do not know what the translation is. Below are two diagrams from in the book. It is mostly written information that I cannot read, but there are diagrams of Soviet Artillery and also photos of the pieces at the end.
There is also this MASSIVE set of photos from Prime Portal
