As you can see, although there is rare theme, it excites small interest enough

There must be better versions of the Polish steel helmet out there, S Model looked bit too hard at the US M1

Hi David - I know perfectly construction of Polish helmets
In a way you have reason - these from S Model could be a bit great , but I have photos(unfortunately only in books) where Polish wz.31 helmets for illusion remember US M1. Anyway, on each head helmet looks differently.

Hello,
I understand, that you mean year 1939?And, that you mean standard German infantry?
I don't know if you know, but equipment of single German and Polish soldier it didn't differ excessively.
Polish soldiers were trained better and owned high morale than Germans.
For example, standard Polish grenades(wz.24) were incomparably better than German.
Several Polish types of weapon and equipment, Germans have introduced for personal arming.
During Polish Campaign, in encounters infantry vs infantry, Germans usually defeat.

Particularly since Poland's mobilisation was hindered by her British and French 'allies' who were worried that the Germans might interpret it as an aggressive move by Poland!

Hello,
Poland was not surprised by German attack but part of Polish divisions and brigades was in transports and mobilisation(several these days which we have lost - as David has said - due to coward politics of our 'allies').
Additional, by adverse order of borders, Poland has been hit at from west, from north and from south. And next, from east by Soviets(17th September 1939)...Poland has taken battle with this new opponent, in spite of, that almost whole Polish divisions were on Polish - German front.

and again no offence.......
but germans had beter tanks (in fact...the best tanks in WW2), better armored vehicles, the best gun - the 88 mm .....

even Eisenhower recognized that an american soldier could not match a german soldier.....and the american strategy could not match german strategy.....
yeah.....the germans loosed the war.....but.....Hitler loosed the war with his big strategy mistakes....
ok.....the polish army had not heavy armor and so on....but the french army?
and te british army?

The Polish Army destroyed no less than a quarter of the German tanks used against them in 1939, despite only having AT rifles and 37mm AT guns.

Hello,
Claudiu - I don't offend absolutely - there is normal discussion
I want to note only, that I say about condition of Polish and German army in year 1939.NOT ABOUT LATER PERIOD OF WAR.
In 1939, German tanks weren't the best - first of all, Germans prevailed tactic.
In Polish Campaign - Germans lost almost 1000 tanks and armoured cars(and about 100 Soviet). Also many required different repairs.
Poland owned one of the best AT guns - 37mm Bofors gun.
Polish army used excellent AT rifle - wz.35 kb Ur (cryptonym 'Urugwaj') - this Polish construction didn't have equivalent in Wehrmacht .
Poles as one of first, they have used AA guns against tanks(with good result).
Additional Poles were trained perfectly.

Nice figure! Very nice indeed. On a subject it'd be good to see more of.
As for the Germany Vs. Poland stuff: Germany didn't have that easy of a time taking Poland. And Poland in 1939 had some good weapons (for the time). We have to remember that we're talking about 1939 so there are no Panthers, Tigers, etc. The match-up between Poland and Germany was mostly Panzer I's and II's against the Polish 7TP's which were built from the British Vickers design. Poland lost the war because of superior German tactics and superior numbers (in Armor) not at all because of superior tanks. Poland could have done some damage if they would have made better use of weapons like their wz. 35 AT rifle with it's tungsten-core ammo (which in 1939 could penetrate any of the German Tanks fielded in the battle). One of the places Poland was lacking was their air power which as we know makes all the difference in the world. But Poland did not lose the war because of superior German tanks and Infantry weapons. It was about superior tactics and air power and numbers (when it comes to tanks, etc). Later in the war Germany really excelled with it's designs of armor when tanks like the Panthers and Tigers joined the battlefield but again they were too few in number to stop the allied advance (and had nothing to do with 1939).

Thanks Phil,
You have absolutely reason
The next time, I must underline, that additionally POLAND HAS BEEN ATTACKED BY SOVIET UNION(17th September 1939) and must combat on two fronts. Soviet attack was 'a stab in the back' for Poles.
Soviets also lost 42 tanks and about 60-80 armoured cars and 429 tanks that broke down!
Did you know it?

Oh yeah that is absolutely true you can't forget about the Soviets attacking Poland too. Being invaded/outnumbered by armies from two different nations doesn't leave you much hope no matter how good your tanks and weapons are.
There are all kinds of Myths when it comes to Germany in the early years of WWII about how amazing their equipment is, etc. The truth is what is amazing about the German military accomplishments in the early part of WWII is the use of new military strategy which was the ground work for the modern military organization and tactics in use today. The Germans use of Armor en masse as a powerful spearhead to penetrate enemy defenses and slice an opening for Infantry and the other units was vastly different from the use of tanks in WWI (with tanks being used with Infantry and being spread out to fight individually over a very large front). Also Germany put great importance on communication between the various military units so that ground attack aircraft, armored forces, motorized Infantry and Artillery could all be used as a cohesive force to achieve a similar goal. That was some very cutting edge stuff in the late 30's and early 40's. Extensive use of radios in vehicles and individual tanks made for a flexible force which could quickly react to changing battlefield conditions.
A good DVD on the early war German tank forces can be found at Amazon and/or Best buy. If anybody is interested it's: Amazon DVD

hello adam....
yes...you're right.....in 39 the german army had some big problems in poland....i know
it have to admit that it was the first batlle for them....
they learned a lot from the polish campaign.....
and i still believe....that.....from 1939 till the end....was the best army
any army in the world....separately....could not be a match for the german army....nor british....nor french...nor american...nor russian...
but....that's life......
mistakes....bad strategy sometimes.....the war on many fronts.....ruined the german army....
forget me...that i am such a passionate fun of the german army.....i know that for you...for Poland.....was a very bad period.....
