After being out of building for 30+ years I decided (on a whim) to try it again. I went with the 1/48 because of size and cost (I used to build 1/35). I don't have the good eyes and steady hands of my younger years, but I am having fun. And that is what matters, right?

Welcome back. Coming back into the hobby is a really refreshing experience. I am sure you will agree, the hobby has changed alot since the last time you were in it. You have done some great work so far. Your completed kits look really good.
I also recently returned to modelling. Although I had done a little bit of assembly off and on over the last few years, I hadn't truly been deep into the hobby. I finished my first kit in several years a couple of weeks ago and will be finishing up two more this next week.
We look forward to seeing more of your work here.

Bret,
Welcome back to modeling and welcome to armorama. I too just recently returned to modeling after a 40 year absence. From what I see your a quick pick up on the art so you'll do just fine. Very good looking work so far.
Again welcome back and have a great time.

Gday Bret and welcome back into the fray! Any chance of some close ups of the figures? I see they are probably scaled up versions of their 1:35 counterparts, but nonetheless I haven't seen any painted up as yet in this scale.
Cheers

Thanks, everyone! My biggest problem is lighting, I need to get a flourescent or something to put in my building room. Otherwise, I have to paint only on nice sunny days.
They are pretty much exact copies of the 1/35 figs, but there are some that are unique to 1/48.

Well, it will never win any contests, but here is the Carrier;
As soon as I get the infantry painted I'll post the dio.
(I hate painting figs nowdays)

My Tiger is done.
Hopefully I'll have some crew soon. And a display case. And then I can finish it.

Thanks! It can be a bit frustrating at times, especially the bad eyesight.
