Is there a replacement 152mm barrel in 1/35 without the reinforcing ring around the muzzle? It's for the Trumpeter KV 'Big turret' which appears to have a plain barrel.

Now that is an excellent question... To which, the answer is unfortunately no. The LionRoar barrel is dimensionally correct but has the (earlier) ring.
Why NONE of the AM people have actually done a later barrel is beyond my comprehension..
Did you check the Armorscale website?

I could only find an ML-20S barrel on Armorscale's site, I'll get one though, for when I eventually build the Dragon ISU-152 I've had since the last millennium.
Only realised about the muzzle ring while flicking through this

even though I've looked at lots of photos - D'oh!

David,
I looked at the Lion Roar barrel, with the ring, and I wonder....how difficult would it be to sand that down? Perhaps the barrel could be chucked into a variable speed drill and using sand paper (increasing the grit content once it's close to being removed) to "sand it away."
And, I do greatly appreciate the link to the KV Seminar. Wonderful bit of information.

Edit: Tank Maker makes a KV-II 152mm barrel in resin with the ring (but may be a lot easier to "remove?"). It's listed on Great Models as STZ021 (special order).
