I was just wondering if there are any figures, or figure sets, of German soldiers doing engineer type work? I am mainly looking for soldiers using shovels, picks, bolt cutters, that type of thing.
I have seen the figures from Construction Battalion but I am not sure if they are supposed to represent soldiers or civilian workers.
Just curious.
Thanks,
HARV

Hi randy
There are a few figures sprinkled about within the resin figure sellers showing soldiers with shovels etc. but to get a few you'd be spending a lot of money.
Jim's showing figures that are striking the right poses but may not be dressed correctly for your needs in the case of the tankers. In which case a spot of conversation work would put that right I'm sure.
Masterbox do a set of Signals personnel which also have its uses Kit no 3540.
Alternatively if you are in no great hurry you could wait, because Miniart have a set 35065 "German Soldiers at Work" which their web sites says is "coming soon". See the black and white artwork on their web site. www.miniart-models.com under - catalogue -WWII Military Miniatures, scroll to the page bottom.

Harv,
Check also other Master Box and MiniArt figure kits - some may be interesting for you.

Curiously enough, it'll be easier to find figures of combat engineers than infantry involved in construction activities...

David
I want to thank you for posting that link and the warning.
I've seen this set, including a glowing description of the contents on ebay at regular intervals and was tempted to buy them but as I knew nothing of their quality, read any reviews....and the seller wanted £5.95 + postage for two figures I gave it a miss.
Thanks
Alan

There should be several out there, Masterbox and MiniArt come to mind as do Italeri, Zvezda (SP?), Dragon, Royal Models, Hornet and I think Warriors all have German combat engineers

Hey Randy,
Jaguar Models used to do a set of German Engineers called "Digging In" #63024.
They're a nice pair of soldiers in shirt sleeves and jack boots wielding a pick axe and shovel.
I think they're OOP but they're probably still available somewhere.
As mentioned above, Miniart have a couple of sets, German Tank Crew at Work #35010 and German Tank Repair Crew #35011.
They're mostly in shirt sleeves and would do the job nicely with a wee bit of conversion.
Cheers

Thank you everyone.
I really appreciate all of the help and suggestions. I had done some searching but I wasn't having much luck. You have all helped me very much.
What I am planning is to have some German troops working around a bunker in the Siegfried Line for the Borders Of The Fatherland '44-'45 campaign. I want it to look like the men manning the bunker are doing some repair work to get it ready for the inevitable upcoming fighting.
Thanks again for all the help.
