Did you just pour the glue into the cup shaped part, and let it dry that way, or did you spread it on another surface and let it dry before placing it in the cup shaped part?

I asked Dave the same thing myself in todays chat. He uses clear Testors glue. Applies it straight to the cup and waits two days for it to clear. He said it looks pretty milky after 24 hours but then clears to what you see on his attached pic.
