I am in the process of an Iraqui Freedom diorama and need help finding information on building the actual desert landscape. Any information or web sites that will help with this would be appreciated. I already have the armor but just need help with the environment

Thanks in advance

HI ARMY...
I LIVE IN RIYADH SAUDI ARABIA...MY JOB TOOK ME HERE...MUST HAVE UPSET SOMEONE SOME TIME.
THE ENVIRONMENT HERE IS SIMILAR TO IRAQ IN MANY WAYS. IF YOU CAN BE A LITTLE MORE PRECISE IN WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR MAYBE I CAN FIND SOME PICS. OLD BUILDINGS, DUNES, OASIS ETC.
OR YOU COULD VISIT CORBIS STOCK PHOTOS AMONGST MANY OTHERS AND HAVE A GANDER AT THINGS ARABIAN OR DESERT FOR EXAMPLE.
YOU CAN DOWNLOAD IMAGES BUT THE QUALITY IS POOR, BUT PROBABLY GOOD ENOUGH FOR REFERENCE.
GOOD HUNTING.

Cork works great for dry/cracked ground. You can get it in rolls, or in flat sheets. I think I used the roll kind for my dio (shown below). You can add newspaper below it to give it elevation and just hot glue around it, or you could just glue it on flat. Then you just paint it a sandy color. Not sure of the exact texture of the ground in Iraq, so this might not be what you're looking for.

Hey there Army,
I had purchased a DVD produced by CNN (available through local retailers) called "War In Iraq - The Road To Baghdad". It shows a good deal of the desert, the equipment used, towns and buildings, tactics and strategies used. Plus it also has some baghdad bob quotes.
