That is one cool diorama. The composition is great, the story is wonderful and well told, the levels are super, the base is really creative and true to the scene and add a flare to the diorama.
The only really small thing I would offer is that the tall grass is a bit narrow on the bottom. This makes it look 'planted'. That is easily and quickly overlooked.

Rick,
Looking good. Great composition. No guess work, your story is up front and to the point. The different levels add a flare and keep the eyes moving. Keep up the good work and would like to see more of your stuff in the future.

Rick,
Welcome to Armorama...I like your diorama and it tells a good story...I really like your figures and the groundwork is excellent...
However, as a matter of historical accuracy, if you research the battle of Iwo Jima, you will find that there were NO Marines wearing camoflage Utilities on the island...this is a widespread misconception, as most people think the USMC wore Camoflage throughout the war. The last battle which saw the use of cammo dungarees was Saipan / Tinian...and only by the 2nd Marine Division during those battles. This was over six months before Iwo, and the 2nd MarDiv did not serve on Iwo.
Also, the battle was fought in February in the cold northern waters of the Pacific and it was rainy and chilly very often and you see a lot of photos - the majority of them in fact, with Marines wearing the M1941 field jacket on top of their dungaree blouses or wearing wool shirts under their dungarees, so guys without shirts - or even in T-shirts, would be rare to non-existent (I have not seen a photo in over 25 years as a USMC Historian and having visited Iwo Jima 13 times.)
Your scene - with no changes - perfectly represents some of the heaviest fighting in the hills above Garapan village by the 2nd Marine Division during the battle of Saipan...Just change the title and go out and enter some contests...I think it's a winner...
Keep up the good work...

thamks for the review , i did do some basic research on the IWO battle and i did notice the lack of frog camo and i did know the weather was bad during the battle but until recently i couldnt chop and move figures to what i wanted them to be so the shirtless guy and the one holding the sword just had to be there lol . if you notice the camera manhe is sporting a field jacket just couldnt put it all together on this one . i have almost completed a dio of SAIPAN it has over 30 figures an LVT, AND SHERMAN WITH WADE TANKS and alot of scratchbuilt item including cannon round exploding in water and a flame thrower in full blaze.should have pics soon .
