Well if it is anything like their aircraft mag, it should be good. I will have to wait until one of my hundreds of doilars of subscriptions runs out though.

Well, if it's anything like the examples shown it should blow alot of the other mags out of the water. Thanks for the review and the heads up!

Is this a monthly or bi-monthly magazine? Are they going to be at the IPMS Nationals in Virigina Beach?

It's monthy. The price is great, even with the shipping. I can't find any decent mags in Denmark, so this is a Godsend. Just ordered it to try it out the first year.

Looks nice! Trust they are better at subscription alerts than MMiR- - a great magazine with terrible administrative support.

Mike
Its a monthly magazine, their aircraft one has been running for quite a few years now, and is reportedly very good (not being an aircraft buff I can't really confirm that having never read it )
I have also just heard that They will be at the IPMS Nationals in Virgina beach, with a full stand selling the new magazine, just remember to say you saw them on armorama when you opo over and say hi

I agree with you DJ Judge. Looks very interesting. Maybe I should try out a subscription. My MMiR just ran out without any notice from MMiR. Suddenly I just realized it when I did not get the latest magazine.....
Now seems like a good time to renew the subscription - and maybe even go for the aircraft mag as well.

* Apart from features ... why buy a magazine when this stuff is already reported/featured on sites such as this?
To be honest, this line-up does absolutely nothing for me. I’ve bought nearly all magazines available today at one time or another, and have tired of the most. I really wonder what this mag will give, more than any other? The only mag I get today is AFV Modeller (and the occasional Military Modelling depending on content) and even their review section sucks ... as the content of said reviews is so short and worthless, its a waste of the very expensive paper (all mag prices double up when coming to Sweden) its written on.
So I guess I wont be running out just yet ... and hope that I´m proved wrong.

I understand what you're saying, Frank.
But sometimes it's nice to actually have something in your hands that you can leaf through and peruse at leisure with your feet up on the sofa, rather than constantly staring at a screen all the time.
Having said that though, how many more mags of this type can the market support? I for one thoroughly enjoy my modelling mags ("Xtreme Modelling" and Euromodelismo's "Panzer Aces" especially), but I don't have unlimited funds to spend on them.

Frank it was actually a previous post by you that changed my magazine buying habits . If I remember rightly you pointed out that for the price of 3-4 mags you could buy a good reference book. Which is what I started doing. I still buy magazines when I see a good feature on a kit I'm interested in.
The sample page layouts look good though and I will get the first issue certainly when it hits the shops here.

Hello Pat
I´ll give you some examples of why I think like I do. Don´t think theres anybody who can afford to pick up all these mags and reference that is being published to day ... so I made a consious decision to get more for my money. And because of whats available online already today ... it didn´t need arm-twisting to stop buying mags.
In Sweden AFV Modeller costs 150sek (€15.87 - £12.60 - $25.15) directly in the shop.
As Id forget to collect it, it gets posted home. It now costs 191sek (€20.21 - £16.05 - $32.03)
Good job its bi-monthly. It does have good build and reference features though but their reviews are a scam. I do agree with previous posters that it is nice to have a nice mag to sit down with, and also have a record through time ... but at what cost?
When I pick up Military modelling it costs 80sek (€8.47 - £6.72 - $13.42). Got the latest with Zaloga´s SU76M, but there´s quite a lot of weak stuff here as well ... 2 pages on the opening of a new collectable toy store and 2 more of a pre-painted tiger and crew? The later would´ve been acceptable if it was a rework article ... but it was just a showcase!
From a local internet book company, that delivers free in 5-7 days, I can buy Osprey Modelling books etc. for 137sek (€14.50 - £11.52- $22.99). New Vanguard, men at war etc are 130sek. Most of the major book houses are available from here at decent prices.
At least I feel Im getting something for my money.
Its features ... both modelling and reference ... that I´d pay for ... but not reviews of kits/figures/AM/tools that are done much better and faster online, plus 25% of the pages are filled with advertising. Events/shows/competitions ... how many pages would it take to cover whats available online of the war & peace .. using one latest example?
Indeed the page you show Pat looks good ... and it is my idea of how a model should be built/shown ... but how much of the mag will be devoted to such builds? They also have a pretty decent yearly subscription fee .... so if the mag is of a decent and consistent quality .. I might be tempted through time ... but I think Im going to need some convincing.
Hopefully you´ll do a review of the mag when you get it. Sorry for being long-winded ... but it may be better to explain why Im negative towards "another magazine"

Very Nice. I have seen the sister publication on shelves in michigan hobby shops, but not the armor version. I look forward to it.

Super cool new book!

I tried ordering the first issue. Just to check whether it is worth a full subscription.
However, I also found their special books on the ME 109 and bought both of them.
BTW: nowhere during the ordering process could I give a comment and let them know that I only know their products due to Armorama. Bad - since I want to support our site.

As i'm in the U.K. at the moment, i've already taken steps to get hold of a copy.
I have to say that i'm INCREDIBLY excited at this - as a former subscriber to their Aviation Magazine (SAM) i'm damned sure they'll do as professional a job with this...

Silly question, but are these genuinely from the first issue, or are they from the customary dummy issue that publishers prepare to try out the design? I ask because some of the publicity material that fell out of my most recent copy of SAMI was definitely dummies - treating old kits as new releases, not matching headlines to subjects, that sort of thing. Also because I'm slightly depressed that the sample page is yet another Tiger and I am (pause to retrieve tin hat) just ever so slightly bored of Tigers.

Well, I picked up a copy of the magazine today (prior to doing a full Review on it) and the reality is, there's a LOT more than Tigers in this issue. It IS in fact an actual page from the magazine - NOT a dummy...
