Achtung,
first of all Welcome Aboard. You found your way to the best modeling site in the Universe.
When posting a link, you could use the buttons to add a URL. This way people only have to click the link, and therefore makes it easier to use. Use the buttons URL or URL= below the "Post Text:" field when you insert a new post,
The site you have given reports it is unavailable at this time. So I'll get back, and comment, to you and watch your dio another time. Maybe you want to post your pics on Armorama at MSN. If you do, follow this link :

Hey achtung.......... nice little dio. But it did take for ever to load. And then the pictures are so small.
Anyway ....... it looks really good. Nice ground work and good action. What did you make the walls out of under the bridge? The are too reflective. The water is reflecting on the walls instead of the walls reflecting in the water! Other than this, its a pity The pics werent bigger, and more accessible as its a very good dio .... worth seeing properly. Try out armorama on MSN for posting pictures ... its free and easy to link to here!

Ola Achtung welcome on board.
Making ruins for a small amount of money is not that hard to do and there for extrremely funny.
This is a method by Keith Magee (KFMagee) it`s wise to to see what the man posts here and you could look to the stuff he has in the photogallery.
https://armorama.kitmaker.net//features/70
This is an article I wrote about the winterdio campaign here on Armorama. here in this article I explain how I did my ruins and groundworks.
https://armorama.kitmaker.net//features/142
You thought you made a budget dio then you should check out the total cost list on that last page of that article.
If you have questions feel free to drop me a PM.

That links directly to the photo album. Pretty nice....I do have a couple suggestion though,
1. I assume you used plaster for groundwork, you can add track trail on the ground, just as the plaster is about to dry.
2. You should paint those faces. I admit, I was scared to paint 1/35 faces before; but after a couple try, and my techniques are still far from perfect, but I really enjoy the results of bringing those guys to life.
Other than that...nice dio... I see you have a BMWR75 team on background...why didnt you put that in; and make a nice big dio....

Man - we have had a slew of first time diorama people posting - It is GREAT. Love seeing new talent coming in and posting!!!
Your 1/2 track dio is very good. I like the action and movement. The layout is good and I like the angles you have in it. The 1/2 track is well built and finished very well.
Here are few thoughts I share with all first timers. A few things I always run through my head during design and placement are 1. How did each piece get to where it is, did the figure run, jump, drive, etc. I play through and I actually 'do the movement' with the kit. This ensure I don't have a tree in a vehicles path or that the path is wide enough etc. 2. Does it make logical sence for the 'whatever' to be where it is? Would a figure run across an open field? Would a machine gunner be prone with no cover? 3. What's the next slice of time. If you could progress the dio. another moment in time where would the momentum of the story take the action. 4. Does the progression work?
If I may offer some points to consider when you work on your next diorama. Consider filling in the gap at the corner where the two rock walls come together. If the conditions are muddy, don't forget the figures boots and then inside the AFV. They could use a spot of mud/dirt.
Very nice diorama. Keep up the good work and by all means don't take the things I have pointed out as negative. You should see my first diorama Yous is good.

Guys... while I was reading through this thread I wanted to look up an old Armorama article but I cannot find it anymore. Maybe someone can help?
The title was something like "Creating realistic groundwork (dio)", it had at least 8 pages and was one of the first Armorama articles. At least I found it AGES ago....
Looking though the listed features, I didnt find it.......

Ola Elmo
I have these two articles that cover dio building and groundworks
https://armorama.kitmaker.net//features/70
https://armorama.kitmaker.net//features/142
and maybe it`s in the digital diamondssection here
https://armorama.kitmaker.net/modules.php?op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&req=listarticles&secid=13
well that would be the only thing I can find so fast. But the same discussion is been several times posted in the forums so maybe you have seen it there
Hope this was of some help

Thanks for all the links guys... all interesting reads but not the one I meant.
The article I referred to is older than any of the linked ones (possibly removed from Armorama???) and is about basics on all sorts of groundwork.
I am 100pro sure it was an Armorama article and not a forum post. There were sections on how to create realistic stones, grass, plants, masonry walls, etc,etc....
I can recall a tip to use tomato plant roots and tiny leaves to create ivy and other really good stuff... Jim would probably know what article I mean. If he only came across this thread
