Nice work Martin,
Is your M4A4 going to have Polish or Canadian markings ?
Let me guess... 1st Polish Armoured Div in Holland 1945 ?

Hi Martin,
Coming along well. Not sure if you missed my last post or what, but the Mk V did not carry the cleaning rods on the LHS. The cleaning roids you have mounted are for the 17pdr Firefly. The Mk V had a rolled up tarp where you have the cleaning rods and the gun cleaning rods were carried inside the tank.
Other than that and the welds I mentioned excellent work so far.

Looking good.
Maybe we should have a Sherman II Campaign now that we are close to finishing a bunch more.

@ Paul, it's gonna be an Canadian.
@ Alan, I've notist you comment and will add some extra weldings. And put some stuff on the cleaning rods.
@ Jeff, An sherman II campagne would be nice. I think I'll finish my sherman at that time.

Great Job.
How was working with the MK tracks compared to the Dragon individual tracks? Do you plan to add all the spare track armor as in the picture in your first post?

Hey Martin,
Which Canadian unit ?
I mentioned in an earlier post that your original photo shows a Sherman V with Governor General's Horse Guards, 3rd Armoured Reconnaissance Regiment of the 5th Canadian Armoured Division.

Hi John,
thanks for the great site.
I've got Decals for the 4th CAD so the setting isn't 100% correct. I don't have any pictures of Canadian shermans from the 4th CAD. So it's gonna be an Sherman V inspired by the picture from the 5th CAD made with de 4th CAD decals.
Martin

Hey Martin,
Like i said in my post from September 5th, Ultracast makes a set of decals for GGHG Shermans.
http://www.ultracast.ca/products/D35/017/default.htm
I have a spare set in my stash of decals, PM me if you want them so we can set up a swap.
Cheers

New update,
I've used the decals which I had in stock I know they aren't correct but I couldn't wait for the right ones.
Paining has been done with Tamiya acryls
Further weathing is planned the next couple of weeks

Hi Martin,
Nice work on the Mk V. Not too keen on the commander, but the kit looks grand.
Only observation is as previously pointed out, you still have the 17pdr cleaning rods mounted on the rear LHS which spoils an otherwise excellent representation of tht tank.
You have added the periscope guards to the drivers hatches but not to the turret which makes it look a bit uneven, but that may be as the pic.
Really nice finish and the duckbills add a lot to the kit.

Looking real good.
A nice finish to it.
So a base will be coming or as is?
Plus you deserve a medal just for the tracks.
More patience then most.
Question I have the this kit plus another that have 60 Pound rockets.
Did the British use such things or a figment of the imagination?
Cheers

Thanks for the replies.
I'm really sorry about the cleaning rots Alan, With my next M4A4 I'll keep them off, I promis
The M4A4 with the rockets were really used during WWII, I've got some pictures from the Concord "British Shermans"
Well, I've almost finished the stowage an started with some pigments on the M4.
Enjoy

Hey Martin,
Sorry to bring this up so late in your build but, I think the AoS marking should be a white 52 on a red square and not a white 52 on green/blue square.
Your markings appear to be for the Canadian Grenadier Guards, 22nd Canadian Armoured Regiment of the 4th Canadian Armoured Brigade.
http://www.nationmaster.com/encyclopedia/4th-Canadian-%28Armoured%29-Division
My local regiment, the British Columbia Regiment, was the junior unit in the 4th Brigade and had a white 53 on a red square AoS marking.
Canadian units tended to follow the British marking system, here's another site with some info:
http://209.85.173.132/search?q=cache:p6PWb-P0iWEJ:www.fireandfury.com/britinfo/divmarkings.pdf+canadian+armoured+regiment+%22markings%22&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=18&gl=ca
Green over blue usually means either an armoured car regiment or an armoured recce regiment.
IINM, armoured recce was usually a white 45 and armoured car was a white 44 on green/blue square.
I'm away from my resource books and info but will check it later when I get home.
Cheers

Hey Martin,
Here's confirmation of what I feared, the Canadian Grenadier Guards use a white 52 on a red square as their AoS marking:

Wish I'd spotted this sooner, sorry about that !!

The extra PE was kept to a minimum. Only the periscope and light guards en some by the hatches.
I'm not that good with PE. I did use some resin parts to replace the plastic hatches an turret. I thing those look great.
