Hurricaine Hanna presented me wit a rainy day and I finally motivated myself to clean my work area. I would ask that other show us there organization so we can see how each of us work. As for me, it will not look like this for long.

This is my reference area:

The paint shelf

Place I put model awaiting something/anything

I refer to this as my ready rack. It is built intto the wall and contains odd and ends needed immediately.

The table itself

Another shot of the table, neat for the moment.

I would encourage others to share their work area photos.
Hope you enjoy

I infrequently build airplanes, but I do like the old 1/48 Monogram B-17 and B-29. I am still looking for a B-24H....one of these day!

Spare room upstairs. I can only paint on sunny days, as my eyesight is not what it used to be.

DJ,
NIce digs. I can not believe that you have your pliers dress right dress on your table. I like the ready rack and would recommend a paint booth MWO be added. Overall, you have a better organized arrangement than my single plastic 6 foot folding table.

Where is your buffalo figure and the Regimental colors???

@ DJ,
If the B24J gets re-released,it is easy to adjust to a B24H. My dad was on one in the war,and I have a few pictures they took in theatre. mostly,an earlyH would have the open waist windows, and in the 15th AF have extra bulged navigator area windows.

I like your paint shelf and ready rack, especially how your tools are up on the wall. I'm always losing tweezers or my knife under things. I'm sure it's a hell of a lot easier just snapping them to the wall when done.

What is that wire thing on the edge of your table, in your last two pictures?

Jim-- they had a drafting table at work that no one wanted and I asked for it...much to my surprise I got it at no cost. The wires are the guides for the plastic level seen at the top of the photos.

DJ,
I have been doing the contractor thing at Ft Sill sinse late last year. Somewhat entertaining and I don't feel the need to try to put my rank back on to deal with problems. Didn't like the commute so SWMBO "allowed" me to get a crash pad, AKA the Fires Mancave, which I have a table that allows me to build at my normal slow pace... I should take a pic later this week. I have a Sherman builder who lives close and keeps trying to drag me back into the dark ages...

Where are the Squadron, ahem, Battalion Colors located at in your "office." I know that Quarters 6 would not let them be anyplace else in her home, well, maybe the garage.

Hi DJ

I see you've got the A&AP Modern Soviet Armor book - that, and the US equivalent took me years to track down.

At the moment I'm restricted to the kitchen windowsill. Light's really good and I can watch the neighbours' cats stalking each other in the garden

David--- the joy of retiring! After thirty years of bouncing around the world, we are settled in a home. I gave her the upstairs and commandeered the basement area. So, I have the storage areas, the work areas shown here and the display areas to be highlighted next week. Where do you put your finished projects?
DJ

PS watch out for those cats....they can be mean.
